i lie about my prog point all the time, and it help me prog the fight
I have a few extreme cases on my BL.
Like, there was this one player who joined a clear group and watched the cutscene. He said it is a alt but I called it bs to myself but wanted to give it a try.
He wiped us for 30min at the first mechanics and we then disbanded.
The player went on my blacklist.
A few days later I joined another prog group.
It filled and we we didn't queue in. Then someone asked me why I don't answer my co-tank. Well it was the time waster and I didn't notice it.
So I told the group that he is on my BL for joining a clear party without knowing the fight and that I will leave and find another group because he was first in this one.
About a hour later I got a random DM from someone who was in that party and they told me that it was a trap group because of the tank and they did not even got close to the mechanic they wanted to prog.
So he got a little "permanent" behind his name on my .txt blacklist.
So yea, these extreme cases do not work.
But it can also be different.
I've also joined group's that want to practice one mechanic further then I have played, but I only join these groups when I've seen guide's and povs and I'm 99% sure about how the mechanic work's.
Kick people from the party who lie about their progress and are holding the team back.I have something for you to watch

PS: Due to how savage mechanics work, you lying about your prog point won't get you a clear any faster - you'll just kill other people and stall their progress. You need to learn how the mechanics work, practice it with groups that are within similar prog point until you're comfortable. Not expecting 100% flawless mech execution but please be considerate of other people's time.
The best option is always list your prog point 2 mechanics ahead of the mechanic you're actually aiming to progress. Then people who have progressed solidly to your mechanic but only browsed a guide on the next 2 mechanics, or saw them once with only a tank alive and 12 deaths, will join the party and you'll be at a fairly even point. Most of the time. Hopefully. Maybe. Have fun.
Im NOT talking about the lack of people playing healer right now, completely different can of worms. Im strictly talking about a per fight basis. Everyone has their equal contribution to make.
If that pf shows a shiny green practice, its all the same prog to me.
Too All Savage and Ultimate people... why do you always follow the same strategy?!? and never alternate?
It also smell of something else... not being able to step in your own footsteps either.
If people are all on the same page of what to do there is less toes getting stepped on when aoe circles are involved.
