Oh my goodness yes. Haven't read the whole thread, but- I was a huge fan of the hot&cold minigame in IX, had my hopes high for XI's, it wasn't terribly much fun. It'd be neat to have something like this in XIV.

Chocobo Digging should be it's own DoL. Plain and simple lol... Always should of been an official crafting class in FFXI where you could track your progress and see your skill-ups but never was. Maybe use the bit & reins as the 'tool'. Wouldn't be that complicated to put in digging nodes similar to the other DoL nodes if the character had to equip a tool and the character lvled it as a DoL instead of the chocobo itself. Levelling it on an individual basis of teh Chocobo would be extremely repititous as it would reset on each newly bred Chocobo.
Maybe implement (reflective of FF9) the diggable map possibilities for Chocographs per Tier (whether based on Class Quests, the color of your bred Chocobo, similar to the level-tiers of Materia, or even a mix of the three to obtain all Chocographs). Then maybe they could put in special areas for your Chocobo based on succeeding @ enough Chocograph acquisitions.

Id advise changing the achieve to "mom would be proud", but its all well thought out.
Hmm, that's actually a really interesting twist and suggestion!
Think about it for just a sec, Disciples of War and Magic have their Chocobo fight for them by their side as a path companion of sorts, right?
So when you change to Disciple of the Land your Chocobo can act as a gatherer with you along your journey. So, like the original poster mentioned a few pages back, have it play similar to the Chocobo mini-game from FF IX (Chocobo Hot & Cold) with some FF XIV flavor and additions added to them!
I loved the Hot & Cold mini-game from IX. XI's system was an interesting concept but I felt a lot of the Chocobo systems in that game were poorly implemented compared to the possibilities XIV is capable of.
So, once again to reiterate, have the Chocobo digging mini-game coincide along with your Disciple change to gatherer.
Any other suggestions would be great!![]()
Either or I'm fine with any setup as long as we can get some Chocobo treasure hunting in the game sometime down the road once everything else is finalized and implemented. I'm positive with enough voices being heard they'll notice it and consider it!![]()
