Giving your materia to your Grand Company in exchange for seals.

Meld that low level materia to gear and trade it in for anima/supply rating in hamlet. Problem solved and no longer a "waste of your time and money"

So? 1 Anima is more than 0 anima. Try using higher level gear perhaps?

Sounds like a good idea, sometimes low end materia just isn't worth it to sell, so being able to turn them into GC seals, even if only a small amount, would be much nicer than vendoring them for 300 gil.
