    Question about the Wandering Primals

Hopefully a Rep will get something on this, just a thought I had.

When the game goes 2.0 and the Primals are released into the world (which, lore wise, after thinking about it..that's rather interesting if you think about it), besides the Primal themselves if they're defeated, is there other things that could potentially be received? New Primal weapons perhaps?

I know the Primals themselves is a big card to have once you defeat it and may be enough on its own, I'm just curious if there is any additional rewards coming with this or not.

I'm curious on how the hell battles will work. Will they be dynamic as they are now? Or just typical NMs like in XI?

Good question, I have a lot of questions regarding the primal system in 2.0. I imagine that the weapons will still drop, but hopefully their drop rates are increased dramatically, since the likelihood of fighting the Primal's will be way less since their open world content.

Also, I'm curious what Yoshi meant when he said each server would have one primal? I hope that's a miss translation, and he just means that their will be one of each primal and that when one is defeated, or captured for summoning, that players will have to wait for that one copy to re-spawn.

Finally, my last question, is rather or not a Summoner will be required to summon a primal after a free company has captured one. I think that would kind of be cool, and would play a little homage to the original concept of SMN, without ruining the essence of what Yoshi and the development team is trying to keep from happening.

At least that way players won't complain about not being able to summon Ifrit, Shiva, Garuda, etc.. And it would make more since lore wise.

Thats actually not a bad idea at all, to create a requirement for the FC to have a level 50 SMN in their group when they are going to call on the Primal. That way, in the spell log of the SMN, something like Ifrit would be shaded out if the FC doesnt have possession over it. And when the FC does acquire him, the SMN's spell list colors it back in.

Now, I'm sure there will be many who will bicker over who gets the rights to summon it.. which, really, is why I'm glad I dont care one way or another lol I'll stick to BLM.

Well I remember reading about Yoshi mentioning a bar that would need to be filled up, he never mentioned the requirements to fill it, but knowing how SE is, it's probably a series of repeatable type quests that fill the bar. Regardless, I don't think it's that big of a deal, It benefits the entire company in the long run, for whatever content their using the summon on. I wouldn't care if another Summoner got to summon over me? The downside could be like an extra long cool-down, that way another Summoner could go next, or if SE manages a way to balance that.

I'm also curious to how the actual summoning process will take place, as in the animation. They could do something similiar to XI, large magic circle appears on the ground, your avatar pops up from that.

Though with the whole 'world changing color' effect and the areas being broken up into smaller areas, I wonder if they would cause everyone's screen thats in the area to turn to a generic CS of the arrival of the Primal. Optional to skip, of course.

I hope the primals don't drop anything except the ability to summon them or it'll turn into a mess when the claiming challenge starts. All I see is MPKs and LS Drama from that.

Well they said Odin would drop items and would grow in strength and drop better items each time he is defeated. Odin is an elder primal though this might not apply to the others.
