i think your weapon should flash into your hand like a bolt of lightning and then materialize into it's physical form. because that would be tight

IIRC Aion did something like that, at least if you pulled your weapon out while running. It looked pretty cool but undoubtedly people would argue that such a thing ruins that artistic integrity of FFXIV or something like that.

Would make sense for Ramuh weapons to appear in a bolt of lightning. Sorta like how moogle weps make that annoying Kupo and Ifrit's go all "flame on!"

Would be cool to have sheathes, especially if they ever add SAM. Dunno how hard would it be to add them correctly, though. I remember using some katana .dat mods in XI that had sheathes, but some animations would look kinda broken.

I like the idea of add such stuff for more realism, however im also aware this is a world were magic exist.... so floatting weapons/wathever in your back doesnt sounds so crazzy, btw i like more the idea of a magical effect of materialyze weapons instead unfold them, that do be awesome effect, specially for mage weapons and would be less hard to implement than sheathes.

In FFXI there were some "foes" called Mammet, they materialize their weapons in a very simple but very cool manner without special effects, i would like Mages unfolding weapons that way if not better with magical effects.
