At first, I took the phrase above as a joke but honestly, I am starting to feel like placard-clicking segmented those who 'really' wanted a house from those who are pretty nonchalant about it. Even Jimmy Soft-boots, who uses the keyboard arrows to walk has a chance.

No, I'm not asking for placard clicking to be back. But I feel there need to be more non-rng barriers to getting a house if it's limited. Some form of player control is appreciated.

Housing to me is a symbol of status. It might be a good idea to increase the in-game requirements so people serious about getting a house compete against each other.

Nah. The way things were going the only way you were getting a house with the placard-click system is if you bought an overpriced FC house from an RMTer. Botting was out of control, and RMTers had pretty much figured out how to guarantee they were getting that house so they could sell it for cash asap. Especially on Balmung. I watched one guy do it on multiple FCs.

Might be a status symbol to you. I think you'll find a substantial part of the player base disagrees with you.

Get a house because you want a house to decorate and use, not because you think having a house will make you special.

I walk using my keyboard arrows sometimes. Bet this'll chap yer' butt- we won a large during plottery event #6 for our family FC. A really nice plot too.

However, it was a relo as we'd already won an FC house when placard clicking was a thing. I placard clicked for my house (a nice small) a year ago and have stayed there.

Placard clicking was the poop and I am glad to see it gone.

No, you are wrong there. It's not housing that is the symbol of status, the real "status" comes from address (like 1/41 or 4/20) or having combos including one of the S/SS/SSS teir plots. Flexing Roe's medium + small combo is one of those.

True. As a Jimmy Soft-boots I do use my keyboard arrows to walk sometimes and here are two of my houses: This one is a LB41 on Dynamis

Both these DCs have lots of empty plots.

I think it's more that you are intentionally hobbling yourself on Balmung. Move to a lower population server and there are a multitude of empty plots for any Johnny Soft-boots to walk up and take their pick of.
