    Improve Decorating Features

A thread dedicated specifically to the problems with decorating.
There are plenty of "not enough houses" threads- if you want to pitch in about lack of plots, please politely go post in those threads

The decorating in FFXIV is a hidden glaring problem that needs to be addressed- It may be a back burner issue, but still an issue
I've decorated many houses & enjoy the after result- but the process getting there needs to be improved for future & current players who want to decorate with ease.

MMO's such as Wildstar & Black Desert have better decorating features than ffxiv. Also, the houses in those MMO's was accessible by everyone.

Wildstar, you had an island that you decorated to your hearts content with no item limit (or atleast one that I ever reached) Items were flipped, rotated, sized up or down & did not decrease in quality. You could have indoor pets & NPC's. Lighting could be changed per floor as could music & this helped create atmospheric elements. House 'skins' could be changed which also changed the interior.

BDO- houses blend into the world & instanced. Multiple people can own the same plot, but decorate it differently.
The houses have unique interiors unlike the houses in FFXIV.
BDO sells furniture sets for those who want entire themes, those items all correlate with that theme & match. Placement of items is fairly simple but makes sense. Items also have buffs that encourage people to decorate- I'm not going to get entirely into that system for thread length.

Decorating in FFXIV is frustrating. You can float most items - which means if you want lifted items for various reasons (ex: second floor or raised floor) this is not achieved by common sense methods- instead, you glitch X item above a certain height.
-The rest of the house items do not follow the same logic & either cannot be lifted or must be floated to a specific height or is a 'surface item': -Surface items are mostly small, miscellaneous items which can be lifted at any height so long as there is a surface to place the 'surface item' on top of.

    Decorating Issues:
    Item limits
    Incomplete item sets
    Many items do not match
Perfect item placement isn't possible without 3rd party programs
    House 'skins' don't change interior
Base interior is not customizable(except windows, wallpaper & floors) pillars, ceiling & borders are locked to house ward.
Most items have annoying work arounds & snap to walls depending on the item
Apartments & Fc rooms are 1 floor & limited to a 100 item limit. You cannot share apartments or FC rooms with a friend.

My suggestions: Increase interior item limit for all house/room sizes.
With housing limitations, make apartments upgradable & allow shared apts.
Improve the decorating UI with an X, Y, Z axis that allows for item floating, sinking, rotation without limits
Introduce Tomra/ Dwarf/ Lalafell sized items.
Stand alone Weapon mounts & weapon racks (no mannequin)

I couldn't add more due to word limit, but if you have any suggestions to improve the decorating please address them!

ESO allows you to rotate and twist furniture around to your heart’s content, ffxiv sort of does too, but with annoying unnecessary glitches, Im looking forward to being able to place each item wherever I want, if that ever happens. It makes zero sense that we aren’t allowed to do that years after people discovered how to glitch.

Items also react differently to light. Glade partition and glade partition door look different in darker lighting.

Some dyeable items are an abuse of the term. Like the paramour bed where the only thing you dye are the little hearts at the top.

Allowing anything to be placed anywhere would also be nice. Having things 'snap' to surfaces is not helpful.

And rather than race sizes items it would be better to make everything resizable. That way you don't have some races feeling left out of good items.
