I can't think of anything more fitting for the WoL than You Make Me.

I couldn't pick just one song that I thought fit Nonobi, so I ended up picking a few that I think are fitting for her at each point in the story.
ARR - Face My Fears by Hikaru Utada, Skrillex
HW - Gravity by IRyS
SB - Revolution by The Score
ShB - O Nich, O Tobie(About Them, About You) by Sylwia Grzeszczak
EW - Scuffed Up Age by Mori Calliope

I roleplay, so yes. I find themes that work well for her (and she's been a character that's been around for a long while for me anyway, from ye olde dayes in AOL chatrooms lol) and it just happens. I like music and I like finding music to associate with things... or just finding new music. Is it really a common thing to consciously associate songs and playlists and devote your time developing entire background stories for your WoL? No judgement here, I'm genuinely curious. I've thought about my character's reactions to events and characters, but not much beyond that. Is it something players choose to do? Do you find yourselves doing it automatically, or is it a pet project of the creatively inclined?
I did mention the playlists, so: My own that I really should just make into youtube playlists but I am also lazy. Someone made one for me based on character background/history and all that as well; the playlist has a couple of hidden songs because youtube hates me, but that's here. The missing songs are Low Man's Lyric as song 1 (linked in my initial post), and Sweet Disposition as song 7.

This is Kacho's theme song. I feel it really fits the MSQ.When I was leveling everything...

Edit: Butchered the subject title but...TOO LATE
Stuck In The Middle With You
I'm not certain how common it is. After all, not everyone thinks a MMO character is worth developing a big backstory for. But, I do it all in my head then it comes out as a webcomic when my muse kicks in.Is it really a common thing to consciously associate songs and playlists and devote your time developing entire background stories for your WoL? It would depend on my current glamour...
But the Instrumental version of 'When I Grow Up' by the Pussycat Dolls would be appropriate for any occasion.

Good call on that one - it's one that has always felt relevant to me too, partly because the lyrics seem so perfect in context - this segment of the song in particular:
You got the the touch, you got the power.
When all hell's breaking loose,
you'll be right in the eye of the storm.
You got the heart, you got the motion.
You know that when things get too tough,
you got the touch.
You never bend, you never break, you seem to know
just what it takes. You're a fighter
It's in the blood, it's in the will, it's in the mighty
hands of steel. When you're standing your ground.
And you never give in when you're back's to the wall
gonna fight till the end and you're taking it all
It just feels so appropriate!

And much like Optimus Prime, we don't stay dead for long either.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.
Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.
