FFXIV is Serious Business.Hildibrand reminds me of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars - Episode 1. A weird out of place character whom the viewer or player knows that the only reason why they are in the game is because the authors want a "cute and funny" character included in the story for the sake of having something appear "cute and funny." Maybe to a three year old he might be cute and funny. They are more likely to respond to goofy sound effects and strange faces.

Do you mean this one?
On a side note, remember you can always review cutscenes via your copy of The Unending Journey located at your own Inn Room. This screenshot is taken from "Ring of Deceit" sidequest.
PS. Horrible shadows, I know...

While hildibrand does occupy the same comic relief space that jar jar did there is one key difference.Hildibrand reminds me of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars - Episode 1. Hildibrand only shows up occasionally and you have to go out of your way to have any dealings with him. That and his bumbling shenanigans are actually funny and endearing. Mesa think everyting gona be okie day.

Hildibrand reminds me of many different off-beat FF characters. It's a good thing in every way possible. I hope he has his day in the awesome-light.
