I guess people haven't figured out that there's three parts to this quest.

The point is that they are fabulous!
This guy will become an octopus and haunt some opera...was it just another quest to add? I hope it leads to more. I probably wouldn't feel as let down by it if Hildibrand had been in it instead of just a mention.
I feel (hope) that they're gonna add more to this little questline...I mean, for a new quest to have just a simple type plot was a little disappointing.
And Hildibrand is an interesting, if weirdly funny, npc that I want to see more of. He reminds me of the Grand Papillon from Shadow Hearts 2 so much
This has probably already been addressed, and if it has, I apologize. Just curious of others' thoughts on the inn quests. Do you think they'll continue into 2.0? I wonder what kind of turn they'll take?
Well we do need to find the culprit, so they should continue...
It's just a simple story of stolen weapons and the reason behind it with a little flavor of bad detective work while the true detective (you) figure it out. The dude is a goofball but honestly his character is very FF, the FF series is known to have these types of obnoxious characters who are just awful and make an ass of themselves.
As for unlocking it, I found waiting 30-hr worked for me on each one without any issues.

Indeed. They better keep him in 2.0! Hildibrand reminds me of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars - Episode 1. A weird out of place character whom the viewer or player knows that the only reason why they are in the game is because the authors want a "cute and funny" character included in the story for the sake of having something appear "cute and funny." Maybe to a three year old he might be cute and funny. They are more likely to respond to goofy sound effects and strange faces.

Think thats why hes entertaining to me. He isn't really part of the serious storyline or even a funny part of it. His story is just to be goofy and off the wall. Its like watching Benny Hill and expecting a deep reason behind it and an engrossing story to follow. Benny Hill is funny because it makes the least sense possible while still making some sense.Hildibrand reminds me of Jar Jar Binks from Star Wars - Episode 1. What would be worse to me would be if they tried too hard to make the main story have elements like Hildebrand throughout. Which i think fits more to what your saying. Jar Jar would only be like Hildebrand to me if we was the intermission cartoon while you got more popcorn.
Hes near totally apart from the game's storyline, and just there for a chuckle between srs biznus.
