International servers haven't been required to make other MMOs successful, why would FF14 automatically fail (implying it could fail more than it already has!) by adding regionals?
you risk dividing the already meager player base, by playing it safe on both sides. Assuming 2.0 is the smash hit everyone thinks it is, International Servers will remain in limbo much like they are now while new people will subscribe to a regional. you must also remember it was also said that we can create 8 Characters for little to no surcharge, that put another hole in the international Servers, as people will create alts on regional keep there international subs for whatever reason (international Server Friday?).

Long story short the cards are stacked against international for plethora of reasons...IF regionals are created. there is only one way international servers may be of use. that is to place at least 2 international servers in each respective region, of course somebody will still get the shitty end of the stick if you want to follow you LS mates.
