just going to point out that your terminology may explain why said GM's act on those complaints and ban.

Dear square enix. This is a gameplay affecting and player satisfaction reducing issue. Please fix. Jail or kill the character of anyone standing outside the "map" for more than 10 seconds or just have them respawn at the Aetheryte.
