/beardstrokeMoving on from strictly mechanical questions, the issues of several players regarding physical server locations was noted. While Yoshida could make no firm comment at the time, he stated that the team is well aware of the issues regarding time zones and lag most notable for European gamers. He also noted that gamers affected by these issues should look for some announcement regarding it within the next two months.
How is this any different from leves though? It's the same thing cept leves streamline it so that casuals can manage their time better.
i really hope this wont turn into a "quest grind" a la tera where they lead you on the nose to max level, god i hate those
random NPC groups that give you tons of boring repetitive quests (kill this things and later kill them again but this time for items) that dump walls of text on your screen that you will skip anyway cause they are not worth reading till you're too high for that area, then you move on to the next group, rinse-repeat (in teras case),
and im normally someone that reads every snippet of lore but its just not worth it in tera
not to say that i don't believe our team is capable of writing good lore for them but its very dangerous when you have to produce lore at this ridiculous quantity (and i mean hundreds, some of them as stupid as "talk to the guy next to me>quest done, here have 20exp whoopedoo")
leves are the EXACT same thing (at least some of the descriptions were nice), but for some reason i don't hate them as much as i hate those throwaway grind "quests"
just my personal opinion thou
This is putting a smile on my face. Looking forward to the housing/estate in the game. Thought Yoshida meant that it was planned for the next large expansion but it's just the next patch if it gets delayed. Can't wait to work on my own little shack. And on the note of interacting with the world, Yoshida confirmed that the game's estate system for player housing is on schedule for inclusion with version 2.0's launch. He did note that there's a small chance it might miss the launch window, but it would then be included in the first large content patch released after the revamp has gone live. Fans of the game will note that this is not an uncommon method with the development team.

Someone would make one of those nonsense claims that the game wouldnt be Final Fantasy without leves or something.
Personally, I would meet you halfway and put leve desks in all camps. And add daily quests on top of that. Cap everything at 20 (you can do a combination of 20 leves and dailies per real life day). Leves could be counted towards that evaluation thing, while dailies could be for rep/fame with a camp or nearby hamlet while both would still be a source of income if you're not into crafting and gathering (like me).
Well at this point, might as well remove the leves and daily quests, and just add quests like in WoW, Rift, Tera, period. Each little town is their own quest hubs. And then as you near the level limit of that area, the quest story archs into a mini-climax quest. Then the NPC offers you another quest that leads you to the next area.
This way, we'll always know where to go next to level. And everytime I logon, there's a quest that I can do.

SE: "Tired of lag from everyone being in Ul'dah? No moar easiest to navigate city for you, hah!"
This part of the interview confuses me because it is possible to level solo without using levees:
The guildleve system, for example, will still be a part of the game, but it won't work in the way it currently does. The system will change significantly, and it will no longer be the only option for solo leveling, as the game is also adding a much larger quantity of quests akin to a more traditional MMO experience.

Hai! I'm Vahl, in ur mmorpgs, sort'n my inventory and putt'n 2 many H's in my name since FFXI..FFXIV Inventory Tetris Champ
Thanalan is supposed to be split into several different areas, as you know. I doubt that the city of Ul'dah itself will be surrounded by jungle, but I wouldn't doubt that one of the several areas in Thanalan will be jungle. Namely one closest to the shroud.
