News flash, you've been able to do most of this for months now.

Sometimes you just want to see if someone is online/where someone is, but I haven't been able to figure out how. It has some nice features but overall it's still not as usable as the FFXI search.
As I said to that other dude, just stick everybody you meet on your Social List. It doesn't send them any confirmation like FF11's friend list, it's purely for your own reference. It lets you see when people are on and you can invite them straight from there. Easier than searching IMO although I do think they need to add name searching.
