To be quite honest, even if Dynamis is more inactive to the other established servers (I don't like to use the term dead), who cares?

With the availability of data travel center, it's not like there's any content in the game you are prevented from doing due to it having less player population since you can just hop to other DCs to either RP/raid/PvP etc.

It's not like you are trapped only Dynamis and have to beg people to join your party to do stuff (Materia on the other hand oof).

Seriously, this is so like making a mountain out of a molehill.

Except that DC travel locks us out of communicating with our home DC. That means no FC, no linkshell, no tells. That locks us out of the community aspect of this game, turning it into a solo-queue game.

I understand that many people like this because they keep their communities on other platforms or games that they engage with more often. However, this will become detrimental in time, as you will see in the coming years. In-game communities help player retention rates. Over time, the population of FFXIV will dwindle until Square Enix stops publishing subscriber numbers. Queues will die and your friends will stop logging on.

There’s a reason why many online games invest in their social features. It’s why we have a Community Finder. While many people don’t care much about these features, they’re necessary for an online game to thrive. Every other major online game has friends or guilds as a core feature. Why not us? Is Square Enix too poor of a company to figure this out?
