Why Is Dynamis Dead

The difference between WoW and FFXIV is that the former's "DC" is just one with many servers. OCE realms are within NA. EU is a separate region and can't communicate with NA. Now that DC Travel is a thing the only missing thing is getting people from a different DC in DF.

This is why I'm done with Dynamis. Constant flow of bots zipping through walls, ceilings, and under the terrain while going through MSQs. It irritates me when bots spawn additional mobs when I'm doing the same MSQ. It's fun when a genuine player spawns more mobs, but not when bots are doing it while hacking under the terrain. And it's also irritating when bots are grinding FATEs. None of this prevents me from progression, but the game looks like a hacking fest and completely spoils the mood for me.

Bots are found on every server and in every data centre though, it's not just a Dynamis-specific issue. Unfortunately it's a zero-sum game, no matter what SE does to try and deal with bots, the companies that run the bot farms find out new and creative ways to circumvent it, and ultimately players end up suffering either way no matter what happens.

And before you pass judgement, SE were never able to fully eliminate them from FFXI either over the many years that game has been running.

I do acknowledge that bots are active on all servers, but the current intensity of bots in Dynamis is the reason I've stopped playing in that DC. It's been less than a year since I first started playing FFXIV and I've done MSQ progression on three characters prior to the launch Dynamis. I did notice some bots in the past, but it was quite infrequent and never came close to a level that I felt like posting anything about it. In contrast, it's so bad in Dynamis right now that I've already decided I'm done. Back to Crystal for me.
And I'm just stating why I decided to stop. I have no suggestions for SE nor any expectations.

I will comment from the perspective of someone who went to new worlds on EU.

1) establishing a new world or DC requires forming bonds, FCs, new statics even. This takes alot longer than 1 month to achieve and those who have transferred will likely be putting all their time into that right now. Running 'easy' content for loot to rank up the GC and then FC for example.

2) other games including online games such as wow and genshin are putting out bigger content right now. Yoshida did say FFXIV will experience a slowdown on content and patches but i dont think anyone was quite prepared for how bare-skeleton the patches were about to become. This has pushed players towards the other games too. This affects all DCs but particularly the new ones because of the time investment required.

3) housing wasnt enough of a reason to move to a new world or dc. The "crisis" was such because of a few loud players hyping and ranting rather than thousands in actual need. On my homeworld Sagittarius for example there are still roughly 400 empty plots.

The DC as a whole lacks anyone trying to do content, even dailies are a hassle to queue for during peak times. It's been a month, and this kinda suuucks

2) Fall is the biggest time for new game releases.

3) WoW is dropping their expansion next week, so people are migrating to check it out.

4) End of the patch cycle is always the slowest and people are just playing less now.

I agree, but 6.2 and 6.25 being garbage is an objective fact so yeah.


All of its content died in a week save for the beast tribe quest, which isn't bringing people back.

A ton of people enjoyed 6.2 and 6.25. The biggest draw for many people to FFXIV is that you don’t have to play it. You can do the quick stuff from the latest patch on release week, and then go back to playing other games or doing more productive things with your time. FFXIV was never meant to be a content-filled MMO like WoW, and many people love that. The shorter the patch content, the sooner we can go back to whatever else we were doing. No other MMO respects our time like that.

5) Covid is less of a thing, so people are going out more.

This is another good point. I’ve heard from many people that they all are trying to piece their lives back together after we finally got a much-needed break from content. It would be a bummer for us to be forced to play this game again when we all have real-world stuff to do. Where’s the time for relationships and hobbies? If anything, most of us could use more droughts. We should be grateful.

Opinions don't belong in the list. You're also talking about a .x5 patch. There's already a tendency to go for .x0 and take a break until next patch.
