Unsynced trials and raids and their loot

Hi everyone,

I play this game since 2021 and I`m very interested in FFXIVs raids and trials.
I asked some people about this topic and said I would like to do every raid and trial in their extreme difficulty, but every time I started talking about this topic they told me that I could just do it unsynced with 2 or 3 other people. Only for those on the last two patches I would have to do it with a full goup of 8. That fact almost killed my motivation, because all I have to do is waiting until the next 2 or 3 patches came out.

That`s why my proposal is to remove the unsynched option from the game for a more rewarding feeling in raiding and make their loot, especially their mounts a real achievement again.

Maybe, adjusting the loot system in the unsynched method of the raids and trials will also help. Maybe you can at least remove the mount drops, because It would be a real achievement getting them as I already said.

Feel free to comment and correct my grammar. I`m sure there are a lot of mistakes.

PS: I didn´t really know where to post this. Please if someone knows, feel free to put it in the right topic.

it would probably best go under the items category since you're talking about drops from instances.

In any case doing things unsynced is a perk of the game. remove it and you remove a lot of incentive to keep old content alive since you can continue to receive mounts, items, etc. from those encounters unsynced.

There are people out there dedicated to running min ilvl synced content for fun. Go find that community and hang out there instead of being a party pooper for everyone else.

You can't put the genie back in the bottle. People already have the mounts, minions, and other associated rewards from the old content; even then it's not as if merely disabling the option to unsync them would fix those perceived issues.

It's not JUST the ability to queue in at a higher difficulty- all of item level increases, changes to movesets and potency, the nuance of the star squish... you could never truly replicate the way you 'had to' run old content in order to retain the old difficulty, and in fact the slow addition of Echo to past raid tiers seems to imply that that's according to their design.

If you want stuff to show off, you have to get it on the cutting edge

Taking away options doesn't encourage more participation. It does the opposite.

There are players who are willing to run old content synced. It's just a matter of finding them on your local data center.

Making synced more rewarding than unsynced does make sense though it doesn't seem to be something SE is interested in doing for the most part. There are a few items in older content that are creature drops instead of chest drops and so will only drop if its synced (ADS plating from Binding Coil T1 is an example that immediately comes to mind). While the demand for those items is fairly low, they will sell for good prices on the marketboard due to the extreme rarity caused by most players running the content unsynced.

They could make the mount drop chance increase maybe if you do it on the proper item level, like 100% for no echo + min-ilvl, because i just got my 100 barbarizia totems and have seen 0 mount drops, this boss was really frustration to farm because of its difficulty and pace, never wiped that much on an ex trial.

But i don't think there are a lot of poeple willing to invest time and learn old savage fights these days, gear is always the biggest motivator to do high end content.

I dont know how your server/dc is. But there are lots of players who want to MINE the earlier EX and Savage content. If you create a MINE PF, particularly blind progs, it will fill out on most servers.

So, try that.

For context, MINE stands for Minimum ILvl No Echo, which are the settings people use to challenge old content at their original difficulty (or close to it). I dunno where you find these people, but there's probably a Discord for it somewhere...

Ive always found PF works, while you might need to wait an hour, there are enough people who want to do it that it'll fill. Thats on Raiden / EU DC. Obviously other DC's might be different.

I concur with the OP. So much of this game (well, EX and Savage really) is cheapened by having Unsync as an option. I personally do my best to avoid unsyncing duties unless I've already cleared it synced, which seems like the smart middle ground to me: Unsync is allowed, but only for duties marked as complete. That way you can still speed farm your mounts/glamour, but you have to show that you can complete the fight at least once at its intended level. Max item level spreads and the Echo are more than generous anyway.
