yeah always the exaggeration, the worst chance i had was ~2% on a large plot, which is an infinite inprovement over the placard clicking.
Don't add Dynamis in that count. They are not getting new wards. There are plenty of personal houses if you want a small.
not on Seraph. Shirogane, LB, Mists and ishgard are sold out. Dunno about the Goblet, but if there are houses available its not many.
seraph is sold out of personal houses. There are some available this round but they are all ones that had been purchased before and relinquished just like on the larger servers. Seraph could have really used the new wards. I'm thinking they are going to end up making all the new wards FC only for a few rounds, which is why Dynamis can't have them, cause even Seraph has quite a few FC ones left. Then when they open to personal in March or something, they will let Dynamis have them.
I hope not tho cause that will leave like no Larges and Mediums on older worlds.
While I agree in general principle, unfortunately SE didn't design the housing system with that sort of flexibility.
Players who want a house need to deal with the system as it currently is. Dreaming of what it could have been isn't going to make the available houses move from their current worlds to the worlds that need them.
Bad luck protection systems cannot work when it is players competing against players for the prize. They only work when it's the player competing solely against the game.I would be in favour of some bad-luck protection, but having been around for most of the band-aids they've slapped on house purchasing and seen the negative consequences, I'd like them to thoroughly research any method they choose rather than rush in and create a new rash of exploits and issues for us to deal with.
Thousands of NA players over the last two weeks have purchased houses and 99.9% of them had zero competition for their plot. Considering you're on Marilith, you're probably one of them.
Why pretend that 99.9% chance that SE gave you was only 0.0000025%?
Would it be nice if SE could adopt LotRO's system of adding new wards as needed just on the worlds where they are needed? Of course. They should have better researched what MMO players expect from housing before implementing a half-baked system that doesn't meet player expectations.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be possible with their game set-up. In that case, players need to seize what opportunity may be presented to them if they're going to get what they want. Or they can sit in the forums complaining and do without.
Hopefully, you weren't trying to go after one of the premium plots that had what little competition there was so you have your house now. If you didn't win, there are still houses left for the next lottery and you can get one then.
You're leaving out the part where I had to leave a server and a free company to go to a new server that is so cripplingly dead that you have to DC travel to do the MSQ.

I got the house, but I'm not going to sit on a high horse like you and pretend the system is great. Its dogshit really.
I seized said oppertuntiy at the price it came for, but I'm not going to act like its reasonable or there aren't inexcusable faults in the system, nor am I going to make excuses for a multi billion dollar corporation thats been investing less and less into this game since endwalker dropped.
Said server is now out of Larges and has a handful of mediums left, in a month we'll be right back to the 0% vs 0.00000000025% metric of the old system vs the new one save for smalls. I just wish they'd focus on solutions instead of bandaids.
I guess I expect more from a Buy 2 Play Subscription based game held by a corporation as large as Square Enix.
Jojoya has never claimed that the housing system was great. She has repeated called out faults in the system and has offered ideas on how to solve them. I'm going to assume that your statement about her was made in the heat of the moment and does not reflect a proper thoughtful response. Still, I think you owe Jojoya an apology for having made such a statement. You're leaving out the part where I had to leave a server and a free company to go to a new server that is so cripplingly dead that you have to DC travel to do the MSQ.

Sounds like you're not even trying. You're leaving out the part where I had to leave a server and a free company to go to a new server that is so cripplingly dead that you have to DC travel to do the MSQ.

I've taken my transferred character back to my old home world several times to meet up with friends and FC. It's usually 60 seconds there and 30 seconds back when I'm done. Think the longest wait I've had for data center travel was 2 minutes 10 seconds so far.
I've had no problems with roulettes. They're a bit slow off peak but that's okay, I can do other things like FATEs and leves for Challenge log or hunt bills and tribal quests while I wait.
No where am I pretending or implying the system is great. That's your bitter nature twisting my words in your head.
What I've said is that regardless of what we want the system to be, we need to deal with what it is and take what advantage of what is available until SE chooses to change things. The opportunities are out there for those who want a house bad enough. If they aren't going to seize those opportunities to get their house and sit in the forums complaining instead, then we know all they really want is reasons to complain.
Thousands of small and dozens of mediums still left on the Dynamis data center for NA players who claim they need a house, and that's not including what is in the wards reserved for FC that can't start entering until next week.
1800 more plots coming in patch 6.3 for every world.
If someone currently playing the game hasn't managed to get a house by the time 6.35 is released, they only have themselves to blame.
The extra $2 in sub fees is to have 40 characters. The entry sub allows for 8, and SE recently removed the one per world restriction so you can have all 8 on the same world now.

I understand your feeling of helplessness, but ...
The reason there was over a billion US dollars in play for a recent PowerBall lottery in the United States was because, well, the likelihood of winning by selecting 6 winning numbers (4 numbers in the case of the Jumbo Cactpot) is extremely unlikely to happen.
The reason a housing lottery works is because (a) you put down your money and (b) you're competing against a finite number of players who also put down their money. It's the same reason that Aunt Jean won that pumpkin pie in the church raffle -- someone always wins.
