Introduction of a negative commendation button

Perhaps the best way to sort out clueless mentors farming mentor roulette not to help but to get a mount.

Introduce a system where you have to maintain a commendation level over a certain period.

Let's say 70% commendation rate.

A player can then use a negative commendation in place of a standard commendation, knocking down the commendation rate percentage.

The mentor will then lose access to mentor roulette until they are able to bring their commendation level percentage up again.

I know some will say this system can easily be trolled, and perhaps it can. However, I can't imagine enough people would use the system in a negative way to truly impact the stats.

I suppose it could also be introduced outside of mentorship too, but I don't really see the point. Those commendations won't mean a thing and a negative commendation wouldn't mean a thing.

The system may have to be tinkered because I assume DPS tend to get fewer commendations overall. I tend to always commend the DPS, especially if they are new and listened to mechanics, but I know most others default to the tank or the healer. Perhaps mostly the healer as I average 2 commendations a dungeon as of late. Never played as a tank.

Better yet introduce smiley face and frowny face stickers. Smiley face for when you did good, and you get a frowny face if they did bad.

See, I considered upvotes and down votes, but I don't think that system works.

As a healer, I can easily see when people mess up or don't do things right. I could easily give upvotes and downvotes. (a lot of the time I don't even commend)

Tanks and dps are so engrossed on their mashing a couple of buttons that they don't notice others are standing in stuff. Some don't even pay attention to their health bars.

Earlier today, I did the first patch dungeon of shadowbringers. Forgot the name.

Last boss took about twenty minutes.

The dps kept exploding the furniture to remove the debuff, and standing on the wrong side of the fella that swings his axe or sword.

I gave 6 reses in one of four attmpts (all on the dps)

And yet I got asked where my heals were.

Those dps assumed I was being a terrible healer, despite them standing in something that was one shotting them.

That and the wipes were caused by disappearing furniture they blew up, and then taking the remaining furniture so I couldn't remove my debuff (causing my death and 2 wipes)

I would have got the negative, even if I did nothing wrong.

It’s pointless. Many people don’t bother to give comms, healers get a disproportionate amount of them in comparison to other jobs, you can have a perfect run and don’t get any comms but if someone liked your plate, you get one...and now you would want to add negative comms? It would just add toxicity and it would totally be abused.

As I mentioned, some people may abuse it. You can't get around that. However, nobody is going to abuse it to the point where you drop under 70%. The number is a very low bar to reach. Unless you are actively farming negative commendations, you would quickly recover.

People already give commendations for dumb stuff like a meme name or a catgirl in the 2B pants. They also often don't give commendations at all even if someone deserves them. It shouldn't serve a functional purpose.
