Idk... The first thing to understand is that there is no such thing as a "perfect system", this obviously applies to the current system but also to new ones.

I kind of like the idea of a way to "prove" the mentors, but im no into it because at the end they are just others players that still pay their monthly fee, still pay the shop items, etc. There is not a too "special treatment" besides the special roulette and the crown it their name. They have irl stuff and they are not a bible of all dungeons/trials/game events, they might forgot about some of them so punish them for forgetting about mechs, etc is kind of too much.

Yes, i get that this new "system" is to punish the ones that barely finish the dungeon without helping sprouts or at least give them some sort of help (i have encounter them too) but at the end it will also hit the ones that are always willing to help, but they just got that one duty lvl 35 that they did only once.

On a side note, Yoshi-P have stated that they dont want FFXIV to feel like a second job, like many others MMORPG. And im with him, FF XIV should be a relaxing time or at least "recreational" that you enjoy playing, I mean, you pay monthly after all.

Many companies tries "punishment systems" to attack bad players (by bad, I mean grifters, quitters, spammers, etc), but FF XIV have "positive system" to promote good behavior from the players: even if you failed every mech, even if you ignored every tip they give you and even if the players searching "the crown" is just screaming in his room how bad did you play, he still gonna write "gg tyfg! that was fun!!" because he want the commendation. It is not perfect, but nothing else is
