Re-use same name?

I did a dumb and would like some insight, in case anyone has it.

So I wanted to make a new character on the new Dataserver. All's well, I make the character, name it, etc. And a friend then asked why I made a new one instead of use world transfer, since its currently free to get on the new one.
So I went and deleted the character and rushed to Mogstation.

Which tells me now that I would have to change the name cause it's already in use.
I am very certain that its not a case of someone else having used the name, cause I have a very-on-purpose typo in it.
Lodestone doesn't find any character on that world with the name I want either.

But when I try to do the transfer, it says I have to do a name change.
I ASSUME that it needs a bit until the system notes that the other character is gone, but considering that I had seen older forum posts on deleting and then making a character immediately after with the same name, all working just fine, I am wondering how long I have to wait.

Does anyone here happen to know?
Just so I know if I should check back in 12 hours, if it's just a thing that probably resolves in an hour or if I effed myself over due to the system now never acknowledging that there's no one else with the name.

I would wait a bit and see if the system registers that the name is gone and try again. Or if you're not picky about the world you move to you can move to a different one and it should let you.

People actually do what you did in order to get free name swaps apparently.

I could see the name swap happening, too bad I actually like mine lol

I will give it an hour for now and see if it then let's me. The world is sadly where I wanna go, cause my friends already transfered over, so I don't have the luxury of simply going to one of the others unless they pay for it xD
