One more layer of identity you are willingly flaying away. Just keep at it until there is nothing left but numbers at the end of the Game's Title and Chocobos. Surely that will be enough to stand out. No doubt that will be what keeps your MMO at the forefront of everyone's mind.
Adding a jump button isn't peeling any layer of identity away from FF knuckle head. It is just a simple action to please the masses without taking away anything from the game. It adds the feeling off mobility to a game that should have at least that much. It is the fans who are unwilling to accept the changes that come to all different FF titles is the thing that is peeling away layers.
