* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.

We're not here to talk about opposing the implementation of it. So get that through your thick skull.Why don't you get a grip on reality.On a side note, people won't be bunny hopping all over the place as drastically as some of you believe they will be. Maybe the first few days the feature is added for the sake of shits and giggles. But a lot of you people against the jumping feature seem to seriously believe people will bunny hop for hours on end. please get a grip on reality.
The devs can invoke an invisible wall around that little pebble and there will be no way for you to jump over it because of the invisible wall. Period.
Yeah I've seen it done lile that in other mmo's, I just think seeing people casting then jumping is a bit silly looking especially after so long of not having jump. Please think of other uses lol. I am glad that they are adding jump. No reason to get annoyed, its just a game. Ill be in uldah spamming jumping looking for these people making such a huge fuss over it.
Well, there is stuff like Intense Cold (Keristrasza) and Biting Cold (Hodir). Both were mechanics where if you stood still you would get Intense/Biting Cold stacks building on you (which did multiplicative damage on you depending on the number of stacks). One way to keep the effect from stacking on you was jumping in place (because the game registered jumping as movement), which was also very helpful to melee because it meant they could stand in range. There's also stuff like adds that cling to you that you have to shake off by jumping (like the baby crocs in Uldum).
