Why did I read "Doodle Jump" and got lured by the topic exactly?![]()

Swtor has it for optional datacrons, I've never sworn at my screen so much in my life!! Lol. So yeah I echo the sentiment there. As long as I can jump down or up stuff in my way I'm good, I don't care how they do it just let me go over a ledge as I would in any other game or life even.
I never once mentioned immersion, immersion doesn't really bother me, bouncing players bother me, and to me look silly.Gaming has become his nursing home, delivering his meds on time and providing a buffer so his precious, precious scheduled immersion can continue without cease. SE is now in the caretaking business! With so many lost souls playing, I do surely hope they provide this much needed immersion buffer lest our poster experience any undue mental anxiety!
I can't believe how angry people get on here for someone wanting a simple feature that won't even effect them if they choose not to use it. Also to people mentioning seeing people teleport if jump is turned off, I would have thought it would just be shown as them running from jump point A to jump point B, unless they're stood in one place bouncing, then it just looks like they're stood still.

You all know that thats a way to make both sides happy?
It seems ppl that dont like jump are ok with it but would be great if they could toggle it, so why the others , that like jump bother with how (the "no jump" players) see their own game?
Why do you care if I see you gliding in the air in MY screen? Does it kill your "immersion"?
......
I say give both sides what the want, easy fix.
You shouldn't hate on them before you see them, the female Lalafel one is cute
I'm for this if you're not going to be able to jump as a means of passing certain obstacles, like fences. If they don't do this maybe you can just .dat swap out the animation, though.Since we will be having a jump action in 2.0 it would be really nice if the devs could add a simple option for you to toggle if you can see people jumping or not. I'm happy if people want to jump around for no reason but I don't really want to see people hopping all over cities, so a simple option to toggle it off would be great!
/display jump on /display jump off would do fine, or an option in the menu.
So people would rather see people running through objects, running up 90 degree walls a few feet high, and floating over gaps in the ground? Thats more immersive?
Also, why are people under the impression that FF games are in any shape realistic? Have you ever seen a cutscene in a FF game before? Hell, Cloud jumps about 30 miles into the air with the help of his party in Advent Children. Seriously, he does it like its nothing. Sure, in the real world it might not be realistic to jump 6 feet into the air with full armor on...but that never stopped damn near every other character in the FF universe from doing it 10 times worse.
Back to my main point. I highly doubt jump is just going to be an animation, it would be a total waste of time, and only piss people off. It wont be used in combat, much like its not in almost every MMO. That being said, I will bet money that it will be used for traversing the world. I dont know about you, but Im sick of not being able to jump over small logs, or take shortcuts on ramps, so on, and so forth.
Cmon people...How is jumping in armor "unrealistic"? Are you just choosing the ignore that people are casting magic spells in this game? I dont know about you, but I see people jump much more often than I see people cast magic.
