certainly agree and I doubt Ingolf disagrees seems he was specifically talking about the 99% confirmed I would say its 50/50I'm not going to argue translations or whether that lala was really jumping off a cliff, or conspiracy theory type BS...
I stand by my opinion with both options.
If Option A, then it's useless and I think we should get a toggle.
If Option B, I would be much happier with jump overall, and we should not get a toggle.
I think most intelligent people could agree on this...

The OP should have said:
Hmmm.. sounds reasonable...IF jump is a useless emote-style action, then I would like to see a visibility toggle for it.
/thread
In one of the interviews it was said that he pressed the space bar and made his character jump, but it had no animations yet so it just floated into the air.
My point is that why would it be an emote like /jump if it's on the space bar? This decision was influenced by most mmo's ability to jump, and even wow has been said to be an influence by yoshi. So, wow being an influence, jump being on the space bar, the maps being completely re-done(which would allow for terrain to be able to jump up onto and more freedom in your movement). How does this not sound like an actual useful jump thats not just a /jump?

We could argue about it all the way up to 2.0, but I think Zantetsuken said it best:In one of the interviews it was said that he pressed the space bar and made his character jump, but it had no animations yet so it just floated into the air.

I love how we always come back to this when there's nothing else to talk about.
Logical fallacies on both sides of the fence.

/sit is useless. /sit should get a toggle.

From an interview with Yoshi P that Reinheart is translating. I removed the Japanese text. Source is here.
Can we please put this idiotic thread to rest?Next, the scene with lalafel jumping. Is this really jump? Or is the cut scene just looks that way?
Yoshida: It’s jumping
- You can jump at will?
Yoshida: Yes you can. Every race can. This is regular jump.
- You can jump and get on some ledges?
Yoshida: Yes
- With that it’s going to change the movement entirely.
Yoshida: That’s the goal. We are remodeling all the map with that in mind.
- Right now you have to go all the way around for some bumps
Yoshida: You won’t have those. However we are looking at the angle to decide if you can go up or not so if it’s more than 60 degrees you can’t or something like that. We also want to show the testing in the promo site along with developments updates.
- Can you jump down cliffs?
Yoshida: Yes. As long as it doesn’t break the graphics it should be ok. It’s not where if you don’t see the road you can’t walk. However if it’s too high we can’t have you break all your bones (laugh) so we have to have fence or something like that.
And yes, he further goes on to say this:
I'm sure you lot will argue that "action-based" means it's an emote, but I'm fairly certain he means it just won't be used in combat, as previously stated.Yoshida: I believe I don’t want to make it action based so it’s basically for expression or as another method for movement. I really don’t like the feeling of being grounded to the floor , so I think it’s OK to be able to jump for fun when running inside the town.
