This one. I'd kinda hate if all movement was also bound to the camera. Sometimes I want to move in one direction while I point the camera somewhere else.
Would be super nice if the camera would stop trying to auto-snap back behind me while auto-run is moving.
PS2 controller.![]()
Yes, I use both, wasd if I want to strafe or use the mouse for something else and mainly mouse for turning and movement. I find it better for precision and fast turning.

I use the mouse probably more often then i should but when i dont use the mouse i actually set the arrow keys up because thats what im am used to.

I play on PS5 and PC and always use a controller.

I'm on PC, but I use a controller (imo, better mobility than WASD) and only really use mouse for setting up AoE targeting.
Player
No. I always use WASD and hold left click for camera. Very rarely will I ever use the mouse to move and never during actual gameplay.

I use the mouse to pan the camera around and to select enemies.
Character movements & spells & abilities I use keyboard hotkeys for.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Click to move in 3D MMOs is such a pain. I remember a game where you can't walk with WASD and have to rely solely on clicking. Yes imagine the pain.I had some issues in a dungeon earlier with my mouse.
The sensitivity shot up, so I couldn't walk in a straight line easily.
I told the rest of the dungeon, and they said that using a mouse to move is odd (but they may have been new?)
Does anybody else solely use a mouse to walk in this game? Press both mouse buttons at once and move about. I find it gives much more precise movements (unless ya mouse breaks), and it is a bit easier to angle the camera, etc. during dungeons.

yes if I need to move and press other buttons at the same time... eg. out from zone of danger.
