Gil faucets: What am I missing?

9 digit figures for RP "slaves" is a very extreme example. There's very little out there in that category. Most players only really have a few million and 10-50m+ is considered well off.

The game is in a strange spot right now where becoming very wealthy is restricted to small 1-2 week windows at the start of major patches. All the other months huge sums of gil are reserved for bots and those with a very good knowledge of marketing. The rest of the population just gathers scraps. Compare this to the earlier expansions (ARR to StB) where you could make hundreds of millions at any point of the patch via crafting.

Generally the richest players are either veterans who have a few billion from years ago, or people who no-life'd week 1 of patches.

That said, even though the ability to earn gil is massively reduced, it's not too hard to earn enough for most things you might want. Being rich is just for the sake of being rich, but most buyable things in the game are accessible to everyone.

Is that the best thing you can dump GC seals on? Makes me curious about the profit of the materiel containers broken down...

For instant raw gil it probably is.

If you want to sell things on the marketboard and are patient, there are better options (realm and/or rng dependent).
