What is wrong with Ifrit?

Haven't had any problems myself either.

Ifrit will automatically hellfire if his health is brought past a certain point. Probably you brought him too low before hellfire and he instantly used it.

To be fair you do cite bad coding a lot when if that's the case everyone would have experienced these problems..hell we can get Ifrit down to nail stage in barely 2 minutes and never seen glitches like this. As much as people want to say it's perfectly choreographed, it's not. The only things that are guaranteed are Plumes and Eruption, you can only predict it's pattern if you keep Ifrit at the start spot because that's what most people do. Lure Ifrit to the right side of the arena or where you zone in and I can promise the routine isn't the same for certain things.

Glitches will happen this is true, but I've yet to honestly see Ifrit bugged in the fashion you speak of. The most I've seen was someone getting knocked out of the arena lol.

The only glitch that has ever happened to me was when I entered once, he just randomly shot towards me. Besides that, nothing.

If it happened once, then it is okay, if it happens a lot, it is a problem.

Funniest thing I've seen in Ifrit was once I was tanking and he turned and attacked one of WHM's, don't think she pulled hate as I have never seen a WHM pull hate in the fight, so Ifrit kills the WHM then goes back to me, the other WHM raises the first WHM and Ifrit goes right back to beating on her again without her even doing anything, she dies again and this time a THM raises her, same thing, Ifrit goes back to her and kills her again, we had to leave her down because it was like her hate was stuck on blinking red, oddest thing I've seen in the game so far

I've never seen a glitch like this in the Ifrit fight.

The vast majority of Primal fights go without a hitch if you've got everything down to a science; the ones you -remember-, though, are the ones where some hilarious glitch happens. Don't assume that "Primal fights are glitchy" in a thread specifically recounting odd glitches, that's confirmation bias!

(That said I wouldn't surprise me if there -were- glitches; remember the Garuda glitch that allowed bypassing of Aerial Blast. All bets are off in general when it comes to 1.xx's coding, especially if you're doing the fight faster or differently than the people who wrote the monster AI anticipated. I've killed Ifrit /pretty/ speedily and never saw that glitch, though, so... weird.)

Glitches seem common enough, for Ifrit in Particular, that most people encounter them in one form or another. If that's not enough to call the fight "glitchy" then I really don't know what is. I could understand if it wasn't a scripted encounter, but it most assuredly is one. Unfortunately, Ifrit has dyslexia and seems to be a very bad actor, to boot!

as far as I can see from most replies in this thread, as well as from everyone I know most people dont see glitches. And most of the ones that said they do in this thread have seen them one time.

End of it all, a glitch is a glitch, whether it happens once or 10k times. Intermittent faults are the worst thing in software and electronics. So hard to replicate and narrow down to fix.

I've seen that WHM thing too, well the weird hate shift. Was on a THM tho first spell he got hate and died. I didn't see the rest though once he was raised he was fine. Whether to a missed WS or not 1 spell shouldn't be enough to overcome 2xflash and 2xvoke and yet he died lol

My favorite thing about topics like these is whenever someone has an oddity with glitches, you always have people rush to post:

"Never happened to me."

And that's all they say.
