So basically, the Primals are just glitchy, hastily thrown together, badly programmed fights?
Sounds about right when it comes to my various experiences of them doing things that aren't quite normal.

Not entirely. I mean I've never seen what you're encountering ever. Every time we destroy all the nails the damage adjusts accordingly. Sounds like a fluke to me, it's definitely not the norm. If these things happened every time anyone fought a Primal then yeah they'd be hastily thrown together glitchy fights. You've encountered something outside the norm.
