Never happened to me. Also, if you take out the nails after he starts to ready Hellfire, they it still counts as those being up so that could of been it.

I never saw it act like this before the 1.22b patch. It's far from my first time fighting him, I promise ^^Yeah I've yet to see glitches like this..lol. Sure you can argue "latency" but what's being said in this topic..I think it's more people expecting a fight you can walk in and faceroll it without any danger >.>, even taking out nails you'll still take a fair bit of damage.
It may have just been a bad time/day for me/my ls but we all saw oddities last night. I haven't been back since but probably will with people that still want to try their luck on the roulette wheel that is Ifrit. So I'll get to see if it was just a bad day/time for it.

Yeah I'm not sure it probably could have been worse due to more people on at the time, since trying it out an hour ago didn't see these glitches lol, so probably just latency if anything but the only problems that I still see is you can waste a WS and etc on Ifrit as he jumps.I never saw it act like this before the 1.22b patch. Nails were taken out and then instead of jumping and casting hellfire, he instantly teleported the moment the final nail was hammered down and hellfired for enough damage to one shot almost everyone from full hp (we had taken no unnecessary damage the entire fight, which was about 2 mins before that.)
It is a fundamental flaw in the design of the battle. It is based on a pre-scripted choreographed dance routine, and deviation from this script can result in sudden and illogical corrections.
Basically, Iffy is doing a dance: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 4, 1, 2, 5
But if you skip a step and go: 1, 2, 5
Iffy will correct and quickly jump to his new spot (and in this case it means Hellfire).
To be honest, it's so scripted I would expect some botting on him to be happening o.o
I see, so if you make him misstep, he goes and wipes the group. Really, really bad coding.
Not entirely. I mean I've never seen what you're encountering ever. Every time we destroy all the nails the damage adjusts accordingly. Sounds like a fluke to me, it's definitely not the norm. If these things happened every time anyone fought a Primal then yeah they'd be hastily thrown together glitchy fights. You've encountered something outside the norm.So basically, the Primals are just glitchy, hastily thrown together, badly programmed fights?
Sounds about right when it comes to my various experiences of them doing things that aren't quite normal.
Would also explain why Yoshi is doing away with the fights in 2.0 in favor of new revamped raids and wandering bosses.
I like how he say bad coding in all his post. He needs his own "bad coding" meme.
I like how you read less than half the posts.
However, I hate Justin Bieber.
To be fair you do cite bad coding a lot when if that's the case everyone would have experienced these problems..hell we can get Ifrit down to nail stage in barely 2 minutes and never seen glitches like this. As much as people want to say it's perfectly choreographed, it's not. The only things that are guaranteed are Plumes and Eruption, you can only predict it's pattern if you keep Ifrit at the start spot because that's what most people do. Lure Ifrit to the right side of the arena or where you zone in and I can promise the routine isn't the same for certain things.
Glitches will happen this is true, but I've yet to honestly see Ifrit bugged in the fashion you speak of. The most I've seen was someone getting knocked out of the arena lol.
