What is wrong with Ifrit?

We were doing fine, had him losing HP faster than you could count it, and destroyed all the nails within 20 seconds..and he immediately teleports to the center, skipping all animations, and Hellfires, instantly one-shotting half the group for 2.8-3k damage.

I mean, seriously, as if the badly programmed laggy cracks and lava weren't bad enough, does he really have to randomly do crud like that?

If you kill it too fast, he uses hellfire. this is intentional as part of the fight is surviving hellfire.

Yeah, I can see that. Unfortunately, all the nails were destroyed and he decided to do a 2 nail damage hellfire anyways. Definitely not intended.

I could understand if we had ignored the nails and he did 9999, or even if he had done 9999 mid nails from a aero tick or something.

But punishing good teamwork and a perfect rotation is just...mean.

Using sentinel helps and try to keep SS on your mages and yourself. The tank should be fine.

If it makes you feel better, we had a glitchy garuda, where her plumes started their exploding swirl animation almost instantly after popping. They exploded in about 8 seconds, and wrecked our party up in seconds. :s

And another glitchy garuda where she hit all 4 mages and the bard with shriek despite them all being directly behind the rock from her, followed by a normal attack on one of them whos small AoE wiped them all out, lol.

So basically, the Primals are just glitchy, hastily thrown together, badly programmed fights?
Sounds about right when it comes to my various experiences of them doing things that aren't quite normal.

Would also explain why Yoshi is doing away with the fights in 2.0 in favor of new revamped raids and wandering bosses.

i had a whole night of these type Ifrit's, jumps where he'd WS in mid air, Hellfire goin off before jump happens, and other nifty things of that nature, the best was a seemingly random hate reset before anyone other than me did anything he decided to just wander away and attack random people ~15 seconds into the fight after voke/flash/spirits combo, it was hilarious.

I tend to imagine Ifrit with a giant grin on his face saying "who's the weakest avatar/summon/magicite/Eidolon now?!" whenever he decides to just unleash hell upon everyone with his glitches. Happens roughly 50% of the time...

Yeah I've yet to see glitches like this..lol. Sure you can argue "latency" but what's being said in this topic..I think it's more people expecting a fight you can walk in and faceroll it without any danger >.>, even taking out nails you'll still take a fair bit of damage.
