Nophica Better Not Be a Tree

I'm reserving judgment till the raid comes out obviously, but I'm just saying if in fact the giant boob goddess turns out to be this:



It's gonna suck. Especially when we already have official artwork of her (having giant boobs). To pull a 180 and be like UH ACKSHUALLY SHES A TREE would be SO LAME

I have to assume the battle with her will take place entirely on her breasts with the cleavage acting as an occasional death drop as they squeeze together and apart throughout the fight.

We fought a tree in 6.2, we won't fight another one so soon. Plus, that tree is WAY too big to be an enemy (and in a field that's way too wide and otherwise featureless to be just one arena), it's obviously a setpiece. My guess is we fight a boss in the field , and then make our way to the tree for the next, similar to how Azeyma was in a place grounds and Nald'thal was inside the building.

I'm not tremendously interested in Nophica in large part because we know what she looks like (and there's no way in hell they're not using that, it's a famous picture). The ones of the most interest to me in this one, provided the lineup is who we think, are Althyk and Menphina. Because we've never seen any art of either of them in or out of universe, so they're a complete enigma. Debatably even moreso than Byregot, the only art-less one from the first leg; him being a god of crafting with a hammer made it pretty clear what he was gonna look like. Althyk has an armor set that might give some clues, and being depicted as 'an emperor with a greataxe' makes the intent pretty clear, but being a god of space and time is an odd partner for that. And Menphina's imagery and domain is kind of all over the place, it's hard to get an idea what they'd capitalize on.

Given the first group of the Twelve in Agalia closely resembled either traditional depictions of them, or, in one case, the artwork of them depicted on AST's cards (aka Azeyma), I'm liable to assume that Nophica will closely resemble her artwork on the Order of the Twin Adder poster (and wield souped up ARC and LNC powers, given her artwork depicts her holding a bow in one hand and a spear in the other, referencing of course the ARC and LNC Guilds in Gridania). And, given Nald'thal's battle evokes the "Thal's Balls!" cuss, expect some reference to Nophica's.. um.. assets.

Of course, there is nothing stopping SE going for something completely different, but the precedent is there.

Or it could just be a background setpiece like Byregot's spire that was the one thing shown off in Aglaia previews.

Come to think of it, this is definitely the Bole, the world tree.

I'm not sure why you're italicising AST cards like it's something bizarre and not one of our main sources of lore on the Twelve since its introduction.

By the shape I am assuming that is the arena; as in we fight on top of it.

As for her body..I am assuming she will be the typical Square Enix Valkyrie-Amazon type with spear and bow. Kind of like Riesz from Trials of Mana, but obviously less chibi/more in line with what we’ve seen of other gods. If they were to try to subvert her image the only real way to do it would be to do a Lolita type…but that would be very…very dumb.

I am interested how they will differentiate her from Halone who is also a kinda Valkyrie-gladiator type.
