Stuck in hildibrand quest line

I just started the quest line - The Coliseum Conundrum
i entered and completed dragons neck trial but as i exited the dungeon, the questline was no longer up on my hotbar, the questline tells me to speak to briardien but he was not outside or any location i could think of including in the pillars where it says he is, from the consolegameswiki page.
I've tried going to the next places along the quest line including searching for the shades of sil'dih section to no avail.
I've both submitted a bug ticket and asked support for help but unfortunately they're useless and tell me i have to research it and post on here.

I'm not sure what you mean by hotbar. Do you mean the Duty List in the HUD?

Is the quest still in your Journal?

ah my journal, i forgot about that.
I just checked it and it has done the weirdest thing. So yes it went off my duty list in the HUD menu originally, but yeh the journal basically told me i had done the entire arr quests, i had somehow completed so many automatically that i'm now into the HW ones. I don't even know how that's possible but thanks to the journal which i had forgotten about, i figured it out and i'm back on track
