    Returning after 1 month break

Been playing since launch and I dont even really want to play anymore, I mean I love this game and all but.....
I guess I am overwhelmed in the amount of things I need to do countless times for very little reward. Many other people have said this same thing before! Please open your eyes and listen to the people.

A lot of my friends since launch have also left during the past month I was gone. Was it because I was gone for a month, or was it cause of the game? The answer is probably both but more leaning towards the game. A lot of the long time players who still play this game are only staying for the community and their friends, not because the game is so fun and rewarding.

I will probably log in here and there, but no way will I be playing everyday like i used to. Sorry to my friends but I just cant do it anymore,

Please, add some fun to the game, not senseless repetition

I know 2.0 will add a lot more to the game and all, but it needs more fun now. Well, it needed it a long time ago. For the people who have already done primals, raids, etc 1000x times, I swear I felt a slap across the face when I read the AF weapon quest requirements.

Very tired of spending countless days for an extremely small chance at a reward each completion.

Ex: When I am hungry, I eat food to be full, I dont eat something to take a chance that it might fill me up for the time being!

Give us a card game or something! Give us anything that is FUN and UNIQUE with
    REWARD please!!!

Sorry for the rant but had to speak my mind, and I hope more people do too! Let your voice be heard

    Hm I agree.
I just did Ifrit and got 5 weapons but I never tried to do Moogle or Garuda. Even if I get good enough to kill them, there is no reward for me and I don't want to do it over, and over, and over, ... again until it gets really (!) borring.
I rather see some videos of the battles and YES - they are very nice. But it's not nice to kill them after doing a while and getting a dark matter.

Garuda is guaranteed 2 totems for everyone when you win and in most cases they are the best non-relic weapons.

Well okay that's true, but you need 40 of them. Garuda is hard enough to give you a honest reward for a kill.

Hm I am not sure, on one hand it is cool to have that stuff not easy to get but on the other I have no motivation to even begin with trying. Maybe if the drop rates are just a little better, it may be something different.

Same with Ifrit - 2 weapons left, 30 runs after the addition of totems.
    = 2 totems.

    Nothing changed.

Maybe I am a too casual player but I had fun for about 20 times with ifrit and then I began to dislike...and now I hate it. Every run a little "Yay, done!" and reward: dark matter

Don't misunderstand me, the fights are great, but not for 100-300 times.

And it's the same with every content they add.

I agree, I do not even feel like getting a new weapon. What bothers me more is even after you get that weapon, what is there to use it on? More of the same again, and again .....

I got all 7 Ifrit and Moogle weapons, 3-4 pieces of Darklight, Full sets of HQ x2 Melded Gear. 2 Luminary Tools. I have no more motivation to do anything, Some of the best gear that I spent soooo much time and gil and PATIENCE to get.

What this game needs is A LOT MORE non primal/raid content. Each patch I'm hoping "Please be more leves, and honestly I would have hoped there would have been a huge variety of types by now. But leves arent even scratching the surface of the problem, It is just the lack of repeatable fun content with satisfaction of victory/completion and rewards.

    Good luck in your endeavors.

I've been here since beta, on and off, and I've been on since November of so last year. I have all Primal Weapons and all in all, getting those are much easier, with luck, then getting Darklight. I really complained with the primal weapons, but it is getting a bit much with the whole luck thing.

I play, and i'm sure many others do, for fun. Something does not need to be "rewarding" or rewarded, to be fun. That's how I see it. Sure if you get a reward, cool. But if you don't like doing something, but you'll do it if you get rewarded, you still don't like doing it.

I would agree with you, sure it is really fun for people just starting this game, I however have been here since launch, have done every single piece of content 300+ times (minus garuda and hamlet)

There is no fun anymore for me
    I wish there was !
Sure Garuda is fun, I have fought her. But after the 100+ times its dull, I dont even want to fathom the idea of fighting her 100+ times. Which is one of the reasons why I feel overwhelmed and don't even want to bother with A lot of the recent content. New fights, same luck needed to recieve anything. And to top it off to get my AF weapon I'll have to go repeat the content I already got completely sick of, a lot more times! Is that really new content ? Do things you've already done to recieve a new item? It is a terrible system

Even if there were no rewards I would still do the content, but I would also still get bored of it just as fast and then not do it again

However I don't want this to become another drop rate complaint thread, that is not my intent. I just wanted to get the idea that going the raid/primal/drop rate dependant route they are going... Is not working very well for a lot of people

This game needs other things to do!

Yeah Rome wasnt built in a day, but the bricks were placed in the correct spots!

I would consider taking a break for awhile. Possibly waiting for 2.0 to come out before you give the game another shot.

Just a heads up Yoshi recently did an interview and said this:

1UP: A couple things in the game right now that seem to be, as Final Fantasy XI players might say, are "haunted by the ghost of Tanaka." For example, the Relic weapon quests that were just added yesterday seem to rely very heavily on luck. And this kind of thing is really discouraging to a lot of players. An element of luck is okay, but effort is more important. And there's always the thought that, yeah, if I do this enough times, I might get lucky and get it, but there's always the fear that they won't. Especially after the Ifrit and other boss battles. I know people say that they fought 75 times and they haven't gotten a weapon yet, and they're just really frustrated, and they're upset to see that same thing happening in other systems. So are there any plans to adjust the luck/effort balance of high-level content in the future?

NY: We can tell you that at version 2.0, a lot of things are going to be changing in this aspect. For example, like a token type of system, where if you do it enough times, you're going to get rewarded for doing it that many times. We also have something else prepared as well that's going to address this... we can't talk about it now, but we have many things in place that will address that issue.

And the other thing being that, the real need for the Need, Greed, and Pass type of system when things get dropped, things that are pretty much a global standard that we haven't achieved yet on Final Fantasy XIV. We understand that we have those problems, but with the current system, we can't address them. But we will be able to address them in 2.0 with the new system and the new engines. And so you can go back and tell the community that, come 2.0, we will actually have that global standard and you won't have to worry as much about these types of things. But again, that doesn't mean we're going to forget about our current version players. We're going to listen to the voices of the players, look at the forums, adjust drop rates to reduce as much stress as possible for the players so they can experience this grand finale, the Seventh Umbral Era story, that ushers in 2.0.

What was their explanation of why they changed the drop rate for Garuda totems, but left Ifrit and Mog as they were, again?
