Sure, but they have to replace it with something better.

Trains aren't really all that bad. It's nice to have a large scale activity with the community coming together to organize something that benefits the playerbase overall. Scouters, relayers and those who run the discords put in a lot of work for others for little gain. I'd encourage that, but actually build towards it, instead of having a vague "we didn't intend you to share this too much" system that creates player animosity when it's clear a large number of players enjoy sharing and community spirit.

They could even do a mix of large scale hunts and hunts intended for smaller parties so everyone gets something.

I don't know, I like a good discussion, criticism or even grumble and some discussions lead into strong disagreements, but personally there's very, very few people I'd say I "don't like" on the forum.

tbh if they didn't "intend" for players to do something, then all the more reason to look into it and fix it. Because as it stands, we're reliant on people having fair play and being organized. And if we can't even do that in the real world, what makes them think that's going to happen in a virtual world? People early pull. All the time. And there's always drama whenever anyone does that.

They were quick to address a similar issue with Ishgard Restoration, locking Wanderers out of the Firmament. While locking people out of instances here wouldn't be great, the fact remains that they should do something to help with coordination. After all, the players aren't behaving within their standards. So if they want that to happen, they need to ensure it.

The real question is "how". Because an invuln might not be the best, as part of the time will be spent while people are looking for it. Meaning technically you have less than the maximum amount of time to get there. Plus, some people lag, some people have a slow hard drive... I just don't think an invuln is necessarily a best approach, though I admit I can't think of anything better.

Hunt trains aren't really all that bad... until you go and kill an A rank outside of the train. Then you get the FFXIV FBI at your door asking why you dared to not partake in the train.

Then tell them that's not your problem, it's open world content available to everyone and they're welcome to take it up with the GMs if they don't like it.

As someone who conducts trains, I'm tired of the organized hunt community acting like it owns everything hunt related. We don't. Yes, we want people to come together to have a good time killing stuff but it's fine to limit it to just what's available at that time. If someone else gets some of the marks before the train is formed, good for them. I genuinely hope they had a good time.

The people I really hate are the ones who wait around for someone to organize a train then spend their time disrupting it. If you don't like how the train is run, then why did you come? If you wanted to hunt on your own terms, why weren't you out there looking for the marks as soon as their spawn windows opened? That's public information with the various trackers being used by the community. No need to come bully a train that's intended to be a pleasant experience for those attending.

The mount achievements are intended for those who make The Hunt their end game and spend the majority of their time hunting (or those who have nothing in their life to prevent them from playing 20 hours a day). I know a lot of dedicated hunters who have all 3 mounts because they love hunting. I know a lot of hunters (like me) that don't because we also like to spend a lot of our time doing other content even if we're still out there scouting, conducting and spawning a good part of the time. I don't even have my Centurio Tiger yet (though I'm slowly creeping up to the end of the grind).

It's fine for achievements like that to exist. The game has plenty of other mounts for players to earn through other types of content.

SE has stated they are not willing to do that. The amount of time and effort it would take them to convert The Hunt into a FATE style system would come at the cost of a significant amount of new content they could otherwise be making for the game.

People just need to learn they're not supposed to make it to every hunt on their home world let alone cross world. If you want those achievements and rewards, then become one of those who are doing the spawning and the conducting so you're spending more time actually doing The Hunt instead of trying to squeeze it in between the other things you're doing.

Having a 5-10 minute invulnerability buff would not hurt anything.
I'm of the opinion that the only amount of time that needs to be waited is the time it takes for the spawner to get to the mob assuming they start looking for it immediately. Anything past that isn't necessary and is just a bonus. Didn't spawn it? No right to complain if you don't make it in time. If you want to guarantee you get the mob, go spawn it yourself. And I say this as someone who has gotten to hunt mobs late plenty of times. You're not entitled to a hunt mob you didn't spawn.

Basically. People need to stop thinking they're entitled to kill every S rank that spawns while they're online. Yes there is a mount achievement tied to hunts. No, the world isn't required to wait on you because you want it. It's basically like going to the store to buy snack buns filled with red bean paste only to see the person ahead of you bought the last one. You go on with your day and come back another day.

Hunt system stinky and it's gonna stay cringe because SE doesn't care how automated and brainless it's become with third party tools. You either join the discord bot networks and have lightning fast load times or you accept that the achievement is going to take you an extra few years.

SE is too busy not giving fem hroth's hats to do anything else right now anyways.

The original intent of the hunt was never supposed to be via hunt trains, but rather to be a group of friends finding one and taking it down.

The devs don’t seem to want to encourage hunt trains, but regardless this is the reality. Hunts need a rework to a) make S class not really a thing for trains (aka let them despawn/teleport/only give loot to the alliance that tags them) and b) make a new SS class mob that can really only be taken by multiple alliances. Ridiculous stuff from FF11, or world bosses from Guildwars 2.

Or just make it so you're only rewarded if you're on your own server to stop people feeling they have to wait for others to travel from other worlds or data centers.

I hate what hunting has become. These are supposed to be powerful world bosses yet they die within seconds. Mods have made things even worse. I managed to spawn an S-rank in Northern Thanalan and its location was announced in shout chat and hunting linkshells the second it appeared. I looked around and I was the only person standing next to this thing as it happened to spawn right in front of me after killing enough Earth Sprites.
