Don't play FL either way but yeah, -60% is ridiculous. The tanks "maybe" close to it but the melees with flexible disengages cetainly not.
They'd be worthless otherwise
There's 72 players on the field. Melee/Tank have a massive disadvantage because they have to dive into the zerg to do anything. Its fine the way it is. They go down plenty fast when they get focused.
i wish they would do that and bring melee ranged attack back, i miss my high-up and piercing talon :s
Nope, why? Because ppl complained that melees and ranks were dying too quickly. So if they were to remove that, ppl would complain again that melee and tanks die too easily.
60% Dr is too much, but they do need some damage reduction for sure. I'd nerf it by 15-20%. Try 10% first and see how it feels.
You don't need to have enough health to zerg 3 ranged to enjoy or play melee effectively. You are not supposed to be a tank, but a DPS. if you connect you do the most damage, but that damage needs to have a cost. Having the best escapes and defensive and being as durable as a tank minus the invuln is oppressive.
I don't think anybody who actually enjoys the usual high skill ceiling/risk and reward of playing melee is enjoying stomping everyone either, because it's a passive damage reduction that wins for you, instead of skill or good gameplay.
While I understand that the way to win most FLs is to gather in one big zergy pile and flood the enemy team, it's pretty ridiculous to be 6 people vs 1 melee and just know that this person will most likely be able to eat all our CC, tank all our damage, and effortlessly just run away from all of us because they're a melee.
Overall dr should be nerfed fo everyone, but remaining dr shouldn't even be across the board for a type of job.
There's no reason a ninja with the mobility, healing and shielding it has should have same dr as a dragoon or reaper with the mobility they have, they should have next to none and melee players in general need to learn better positioning instead.
If you jump in first into a 1v5 as ninja or monk, you should get deleted instantly within a second, you're being an idiot doing that, your job is to wait for tanks or a dragoon or something to engage first, then you go in and start killing backliners, who also need their dr nerfed aswell.
If you don't get that, don't play a job like that.
Before this dr crap, if you played like this, you'd get tons of kills blowing up bards, black mages, healers easily because they all already spent their skills on the frontliners and have nothing left.
But nah, better go in first and facetank 7 people, then complain on the forum to become a tank yourself.
They should reduce the damage reduction, but I think we need CC immunities back (in FL/RW), for all jobs. Also worth re-examining battle high.
