Help me understand Trophy item updates

I thought I had read previously that trophy crystals would be attainable for 2 seasons past when they were posted, but now we're on Season 4 and the Trophy Crystal items are still the same.

What am I misunderstanding?

The battle pass (Series) is roughly every 2 PVP seasons. You level it up to get some unique rewards. This time it's a mount, last time it was an armor set. You still earn Trophy Crystals while doing so, but the things you can spend them on don't really change. That's what a lot of people complain about. If you play enough PVP you rank up thousands and thousands of Trophy Crystals with nothing to spend them on once you have bought all the framer kits and stuff.

I am buying items for classes I don't even have at max level because I don't know what to do with my crystals =s

Once you've bought everything that you can use and sell with crystals, next up is to make them into collars.
Can those weapons be turned into GC scrip, well, then no reason not to spend some of it on getting every minion in collection 3 and 4.
Now maybe you can't turn those in for GC script....
Guess your turning wolfcollars into wolf bucks.
Can any of those items be sold, or exchanged?
