Like... the XIVth Legion remnants in Eorzea have been eating their shoes and trying to steal spare parts from crashed warships for the past 5 expansions.

And we've left the VIth Legion stranded on Azys Lla for 4 expansions. Chimaera have probably eaten them all by now, but maybe some guy who plays Triple Triad, and therefore cannot die, wants to finally go home.

Also is the IVth Legion done or... what? Maybe I didn't grind enough Gacha Wiki Pages to find out. Well, if they need help, maybe we should look into that, too, considering the state they were in last time I could be bothered to log into Bozja.

And like, the Garlean Embassy in Kugane? Now that they're not really... a nation, are they expelled? Executed? Stranded? Trying to survive as geisha? Anything? Writers? Please?

I don't know, I feel like this kind of humanitarian situation is a higher priority to my character than helping confused refugees go play with lunatic chibi rabbit people inside their gigantic daycare facility, and whatever Saturday-morning-cartoon plot the current Beast Tribe storylines are spinning in circles with.

They are big and strong invaders, they got themselves there, they can find their way out.

But more seriously, some of them are doing fine.
In the reaper questline it's mentioned that there's imperial stragglers who sells ceruleum in Thanalan.

We'll most likely interact with the second imperial legion when we'll go to Corvos and see them.

I think most legions you see roaming the world are just consequences of the areas taking place in a fix period of time associated with the expansion they were released in.

I'm just imagining a Garlean ambassador in some far-off locale seated alone at his desk, furiously scribbilng his 16th communique back to the homeland. He just kicked out the sixth person to tell him the ludicrous -- the Empire had fallen -- and he's getting sick of the locals making a mockery of the glory of Garlemald. He requested an immediate invasion to bring the locals to heel, but so far-- nothing.

There were real life soldiers in the Pacific who never learnt WW2 ended.
