NPCs, PCs, and Monsters Disappear

Hello. I've recently resubscribed to the game, and I've been having a bit of a problem since doing so. Everytime I log into the game, all of the NPC's, monsters, and other player characters disappear after a few minutes of gameplay. Sometimes, even my own character will turn invisible. This makes it impossible to progress any further in the game because once the in-game models disappear, they cannot be targeted. Logging out and logging back in doesn't help because the models disappear again after only a few minutes. Here's some futher information as requested in the forum's sticky:

Unfortunately, this issue is still occuring even after the most recent update. Got my fingers crossed for the next one. On a sidenote, a friend of mine is also experiencing this...and he has the same video card and processor that I have, which is an AMD FX 6200 processor and an ATI Radeon 7770 video card. I wonder if the problem is native to one of those two things?

Today I tried CCC 12.4 and was experiencing exactly what you are describing. I play with 2 6970s in crossfire (Note that the game must be set to run full screen to use crossfire.)

Anyway I'm not sure if 12.1 works with 7xxx series cards but I am sure its the last driver that I have had any luck with.

CCC 12.3, 12.4 & even the 12.5 beta fail at FFXIV
I skipped 12.2 so I couldn't tell you if its any good.

Sounds like nothin' but the server lag everyone else has. Sometimes i end up waiting for NPC's to spawn for three or four minutes... whats worse is getting one shotted by invisible aggressives when running across the map...

I personally don't think it has anything to do with server lag, my 2 laptops do the "waiting for stuff to load" thing. But this was different, NPCs and sometime my own character just were not there and wouldn't load at all. Erzo did you give 12.1 a try yet?

No, didn't try 12.1. Unfortunately, the 7xxx series of cards is only supported by versions 12.2 and higher, all of which I have tried. I submitted a bug report, and had my friend do the same...so hopefully it will show up on someone's radar and be investigated. Thank you so much for your suggestions, though!

Sadly it's all you can do atm. This issue has been going on since the 7xxx cards came out and its driver related. Ati has been rather slow addressing the issue.

My brother JUST got a 7770 this week and had I known I would have suggested a 6xxx series card at least. He's been having the exact same problems you're describing. I'll get him to submit a report tomorrow and maybe we can get some more light our way...
