Please adjust Delubrum Reginae (Normal)'s barrier of entry.

So on a whim the other day, me and a friend decided to que for Delubrum Reginae, since it's been a while. We weren't expecting the que to be quick, but when it did pop, we were surprised it only contained one other person. 3 people total, for the whole thing.

Unfortunately, the third person decided to leave, at the start. They stated that they tried once with 4 people and they couldn't get passed the 3rd boss, specifically the shield mechanic before enrage. They were disheartened, because they need the quest to move on in the Bozjan story.

There has to be a way for the devs to adjust this content so that it isn't dead weight. And on a similar note, ease up some of the items needed for the Resistance Weapon. If content needed for the weapon is dead, it really makes it harder to get others.

Ah, that's pretty sad. DR is one of my favorite "non-raid" raids, I wish it was on a roulette or something.

I've heard there are certain discords that organize Eureka/Bozja/Zadnor stuff but I don't have experience with that.

Or they could maybe have better luck with PF.

As much as I love discord I really hate how there's so many discords for so many different activities in this game and you have to go digging to find most of them.

Honestly, I feel like this is sadly to no small degree a literal side effect of how Discord manages their platform.

As a consequence of what their Trust and Safety policies will hold people responsible for (mainly, how they approach servers where TOS violations take place), the platform tends to be heavily adverse to anything other than the two kinds of communities we mainly, in fact, see: huge, heavily moderated, and generally very hiveminded public "mainstream" communities, and private communities that you need to be specifically told about to even find (and which tend to be very small, oftentimes so small that you can't even reliably form groups within them so you have to venture back out into the mainstream to fill ...).

But until "just being a member of a server that something happens in" stops being acceptable grounds for a permanent ban, and/or until Discord support stops being as garbage pail as virtually all tales tell, I can hardly see it getting much better. (And maybe not even then, as people have differences, and most larger Internet communities in general don't seem to have a lot of tolerance or room for differences anymore. Good luck finding the old school "Mos Eisley Cantina" vibe random rooms of misfits that I grew up on, I'm not even sure they exist anymore, or if they're an exclusive to the risky Dark Web now thanks to so much pressure from platforms ...)

A third party application should NOT be the default answer, especially when systems are available in game but the devs refuse to adapt (put DR on the DF or roulette)

Discord is just the most useful place to do community organizing, why are you pointing it out as third party program? The become a part of DF delubrum would have to be heavily nerfed.

I expect it's a lamentation of it being practically compulsory to use an outside platform in order to organize, or even in most cases talk to your fellow players at all anymore (I swear, if ingame chat goes any more silent, I might lose my ability to cast spells ... LOL).

That and the community's insistence on sticking to Big Social Media lately (Discord, Twitter, & Reddit) despite the mounting defects of those platforms and perpetually increasing corporate meddling. But how would you even get people to move to more independent techs? You could throw up a Teamspeak, IRC, and Mastodon server but would people even use it or just say "look, we use discord here" and expect you to continue to suck it up and use one of the world's most poorly managed platforms?

(Not to mention buggier than a diremite hive lately, apparently people are lucky if they can even upload images or video anymore, and often even Nitro doesn't help ... Plus that utter abomination of a mobile UI being proposed for near-future rollout, it makes the signup process for an FFXIV account look elegant by comparison)

I've 3manned it before. It took like... an hour. And it sucked. Only 2 of us used essences, too. The third guy was just there for the first time and didn't know what was going on, lol. I hope that guy you met meets a good group one day. It's been adjusted and scales with the number of people present, so as long as you have a way to cleanse the doom on the final boss, you... should(?) be good for most of it even with barely anyone in your group. Take it from someone who busted out like 10 of those a few months ago to finish up a relic. It really sucked to do, and I had to basically beg people to join and then bought fragments for them so they'd all have essences and it wouldn't take 20 years. It's definitely doable in smaller groups, but it really sucks ass until you get like 5+ people who buff themselves and know how to play, then it's alright. This isn't me trying to excuse the state of DR at the moment, just to say like... that guy you met will probably be fine, eventually.

I do agree with your main point though, 100%. I wish DR were in alliance raid roulette, and that an npc appeared at the start who just sold you lost actions for 1 gil each or something. That way every once in a blue moon you'd get it in roulette to help some bozja newbie and it wouldn't just be dead content that you need to use discord or PF-RNG to clear.

It's most likely possible to do it with very few people, but only if they are flawless at the mechanics. Most casual players who play this game are not flawless at mechanics so it's not realistic for SE to expect 3 casual players to do a flawless run through it like that. I feel sure I could do such a flawless run myself, I just can't be bothered for the same reason I and most other people don't queue for DR to begin with. Most content only takes 20 minutes, but DR can take significantly longer like Praetorium used to if everyone isn't good at it and using essences and lost actions.

Advice for DR is pretty much always the same. Put it in PF during/near primetime hours for your server. Ask nicely for help, you'll likely get a party and then clear it.

DR is more problematic if you want to farm it. If you just need it once for the Bozja story, it is only a small roadblock.
