Dragoon LB vs Everybody elses

Forcing people to pop guard and zoning them away from the point is a pretty potent threat to have. It sounds like many of you are trying to play hero with DRG LB and that's not how the LB is supposed to be used. If you catch people off guard in a team fight that's great. You'll 99% of the time kill 2 or 3 players especially when followed up with nastrond if you catch them off guard. If you forced them to scatter in OT that puts pressure on them and off of your team. If you force them to pop guard even better cuz now they can't defend against the rest of your teams LB's.

DRG has the most versatile usage of the DPS LB's and it doesn't need anything added to it. Its literally fine the way it is and when used correctly tends to always lead to the team wiping the enemy. Comparing it to SAM LB is just silly since SAM just forces teams to either ignore them or CC and burst them after chiten is down. DRG LB commands that players react in a very specific way forcing them to choose to guard or scatter or take the hit and burn 2 recups. DRG LB is way more dangerous than SAMs.

All it takes is for ppl to look at the DRG’s limit and when it used, ppl just guard and eventually becomes boring. At that point, I’m not worried about the potency dmg if it nullifies the dmg altogether. It needs another effect to punish said players who use their one tool that shield from said attack.

No other class has an AOE LB that can hit you for about 30k damage + another 25% boost with Life of the Dragon either. To make up for that difference in potency, it can be guarded or ran from. Use your LB correctly and you can easily wipe a bunch of people. Use your LB wrong and you don't do anything. Game changing potential in the right hands.

Your idea is terrible because it is just homogenisation and simplification with no clear purpose. There is no necessity to this either because Sky Shatter already has good value by forcing what you already mentioned.

Some jobs have stronger LBs because their base kits aren't as loaded. Dragoon has a solid base kit for a bruiser-type DPS (good survival tools, good damage), therefore the LB is made to have some counterplay.

In FL you can use your dragoon lb on a group of people and kill nobody because they all just used their guard or walked out of the way (or simply stood there because they have damage reduction) THEN they can just CC you. meanwhile a MCH and WHM can snap shot you, RPR and DNC can just remove you off a point (RPR REMOVES GUARD), Bard is a dream to play if you are wanting to simply support your team (I.e Just silence somebody who is below half health and just watch them die.) Summoner and scholar LBs literally have a massive aoe that is still VERY strong and VERY useful for pushing and NOT telegraphed. lets see..... hmm Sage just basically drops a bubble shield and makes people borderline Unkillable (so screw you if you are a dragoon using your lb) warrior is just 'Screw your guard' DRK you just pull people to you and become immortal for 6 seconds, PLD becomes 100% Unkillable and can just walk away from you even if its 8 v 1, Need i go on?

everybody else is stacked and soooo much better VS DRG and the fact you ignore this fact amazes me, your reasoning is flawed and invalid. you are reaching.
a simple change to the LB like removing the DRG aoe marker or just making it to where it just snapshots is pretty darn reasonable compared to Samurai and ninja that just instantly kill you certain circumstance's are fulfilled.

Only thing I can think of to maybe change it is you get a choice.

You either let it run it's course for lots of damage, or you get the ability to press the lb button again to stop it and land for less damage, the faster you pressed it, the less damage it does.

Other then that, as it is, it's the best zoning tool in the game, even in FL.
Forcing 10 people to guard early, only to get dropped by a black mage ult right after is the kind of plays that win you the game.

It's not always about you getting the kills, it's also about setting them up, and dragoon ult is amazing at it, you get far more value out of one good zoning aoe ult then a machinist killing 1 player out of 23.
