It's not JP, it's NA. 'Cultural differences' basically translates as "We don't want NA players demanding EU and JP players ditch their long-established macros for whatever jank method NA decided would work this week"

It is not only that tho, NA players are way more rude and entitled. I played for example when Eureka was still fresh on both NA and EU and well on NA NM were instantly pulled without waiting a second, on EU on the other hand people even nowdays wait for 5 sometimes even 10 minutes. On NA that kind of behavior is unthinkable. Also the shout and yell chat on NA is always used for...well random people talking about random crap. While on JP and EU literally nobody uses these two chat functions besides from the really rare advertisement for a venue or an fc. Raiding would be just the icing on top and probably really funny to watch when NA players get presented with macros...
JP players don't even know what JP braindead means for most our fights. The strats have names that NA omits. But yes, NA would dominate the strats and discords. You'll have people trying to make universal DC strats but then forget about the language barriers on discord.
You mean you haven't discovered yet that EU uses macros and NA doesn't? Or that the NA yell/shout chat is used as a public chat channel while these on EU are not used? Or the differences when it comes to hunt trains and content like bozja/eureka etc.?
Somehow i doubt that you played long enough on NA or well at all. But if you just play with friends on NA and stay far away from any living person well then i can see how one would not notice any difference in culture.
But i am not here to judge or bash NA, it's good that NA has their own culture with their own streamers and how they use different strats and chat channels. All good and dandy. Who likes this can play there and enjoy the game i don't mind that at all. What i mind is people trying to mix these three very different cultures which would only bring toxicity and negativity. The datacenters are doing very well on their own and are very well populated, there is literally no reason to allow region travel.
people really gotta put the tinfoil hats away, its nothing about cultural differences
they just wanna let the system we have now settle in and when they are ready to add cross physical DC they will.
I'd prefer not having to ever play or interact with NA tbh.
Exactly this, we've already know cross-World DC travel will be a thing since its something they've talked about wanting to implement. Stop acting like it's not coming, they just chose regional DC travel first because it was probably the easier feature to implement
Considering that SE listens mostly to their JP playerbase and them being REALLY against this i highly doubt this ever coming out. Ask people on JP, they really don't want either of us there and well that is their right. Or do you really think SE would go against their "core" playerbase just cause...dunno...reasons cause some random dudes on the forums wish for it?
We will rather see instanced housing for everyone and viera/hrothgar being able to wear old hats getting implemented before SE goes against their JP fans wishes.

The yell/shout thingy seems to be more server specific than region specific. On Zalera it is not very common and most conversations are made in the /say chat. The only place with massive yell/shout spam i have ever discovered was Balmung Quicksands. But this area is very special.
My bard is level 87 now. I guess, this is long enough.
Cheers
