I truely don't care about the vocal minority of RMT apologists/defenders on these forums that need to get a real job, these topics make more views from normal / legit players that are now aware of it's scale and the more they know the better they don't fall into these traps and maybe stop feeding this machine, because let's be honest, savages aren't the hardest raid content there is in any game, they are pretty much a dance dance R of muscle memory after a few weeks of doing them. These Rmt communities are just as aggressive as they feel their side pocket money threatened, a tad less so on the forums then they are in game tho.

"Often" isn't used as far as I read it (which admittedly isn't great). Just "They act solely for real-world gain through RMT and have no intention of abiding by the TOS, including not interfering with other players."

I did notice that they FINALLY got rid of those fishing bots in Mare Lamentorum, so they do seem to actually be making tangible progress at last.

I feel motivated to try getting them to do something about the marketboard bots again.

The bolded part confuses me. RMT has no influence over housing prices. Those are set by the developers and are actually less than they were when housing was first introduced. Purchase of housing with the intent to resell is prohibited under the ToS so there is no legitimate player influenced market price.

As for the rest, yes RMT has had some serious effects. But damaged things can be repaired if you remove what's causing the damage. We need to get rid of those who do business with RMT so RMT goes out of business.

Question is…..WHY is it so easy to have bots around in this game? Can’t they change something that makes it harder for bots to exist in the first place? Instead of having to go around reporting, just cut them at the source.

Cutting them off at the source would cut off real players at the source as well.

That's why the gaming industry has such problems with bot activity. They have to find the pieces of code that would only affect the bots and not players. Then the bot programmers turn around and find new ways to get their bots to operate and the cycle repeats. Do something to counter bot/RMT activity that also affects players (like end the gifting of popular items) and the player base gets angry.

Botting and RMT will continue to exist as long as there are players who want to cheat the game systems. If you want to get rid of the bots and RMT, then get rid of the cheaters who rely on them. Bots and RMT will disappear when they don't have any customers.

Hm yes of course, I guess Im asking because I only played one other mmo before which was eso (years ago) and bots weren’t really a topic so I wonder what did they do differently?

Which MMO, out of curiosity? I've never played a MMO that didn't struggle with bot problems.
