Does anyone have any numbers for the Luminous Crystal drop rate for the Anima weapon? I've been bottlenecked at the beginning of this stupid quest chain for close to two months now, farming HW fates whenever I'm online and not in a dungeon. The breaking point was today, where I farmed over 30 fates in Azys Lla with nothing to show for it.

I've tried everything, from abandoning and restarting the quest, to begging friends to party up with me. I've gotten nothing less than gold on these fates. It's frustrating me to tears, I need numbers. (Or at the very least for someone to tell me I broke something and to give up lmao)

Is it possible you've already gotten the fire crystal from Azys lla? I'm checking because it would 100% be a me thing to think something like Wind dropped there and keep farming there because wind hadn't dropped-- when only fire drops.

Definitely not, unfortunately. I've run an /isearch and i've only got luminous ice crystals.

It boils down to RNG. Just have to keep going till you get it. I don't know the exact drop rate to be able to give it to you, but I do remember it being a real slog at the time. I would hope they've improved the drop rates since then, but if not... well, woe unto you.

I'd read that back in 2019 the drop rate was increased and people were getting it within 2-3 fates, and if not then at least within 5-10. This just feels absurd lol, I'm logging off for the night after having done like 7 more FATES with nothing dropping.

Firstly, for your sanity's sake, if you at any point intend to do the level 80 relic weapons then you want to have the first upgrade quest active while you are farming Heavensward FATEs, because those are one of the two ways you can earn the 60 memory crystals needed per weapon.

Secondly, are you definitely at the right stage of the Anima quest itself? The elemental crystals won't drop if the quest isn't active.

Unfortunately it is completely RNG dependent. Seen reports of some people needing way more than 10 fates when their luck was particularly bad post-nerf. Having a couple quick ones and then one that takes longer isn't anything to worry about. I vaguely remember a couple of the crystals taking me a while too when I was working on my alts AST weapon.

Just make sure you have empty space in your inventory and if you want, put the crystals you've already gotten into your retainer so you don't have any on you. It *might* help cause I think the game drops your chance when you have more than a couple on you at a time (can't remember if this is Atma or Crystals but *shrug*).

Usually it only takes 1 or 2 fates, but sometimes it takes over 30. Just how "random" works.

the chance of a drop does not decrease if you have crystals in your inventory. it stays the same no matter what. unfortunately, that means there’s no way to increase your chances either. RNG is RNG, it took me literally 4 months to get a single atma (albeit back before nerf). just make sure you have the correct quest active, and if so, just keep trying.
