Shame to see him go. I imagine plenty of others feel the same, it's just a case of how much you're willing to put up with.
Yeah but at least previous patches actually had more content and the focus of said content wasnt such engaging features such as:
-Right Click Island!
-Run this same dungeon 12 times
-Sorry no Exploration Zone pls understand
Not to mention the fact that the story ended in a whimper, with its unsatisfactory conclusion also being cited by Brian as a reason for leaving. Combine it all together and all that's left to log in for is turning in leves every 2 weeks.
Naturally he also calls out the overly defensive FFXIV community, whose usual antics can be seen both in this thread and in nearly each one that I've made. Granted I have thicker skin than most, but for some the constant onslaught of spite from the same bunch of people can really get to them. Either way, the fact that sort of behavior was never policed or brought to heel was to this game's detriment.
The most toxic yes-men you'll ever find. At least WoW players keep it real, even if their game is in quite the state as well.

Everyone's responsible for their own happiness. If you're placing all this weight and responsibility for that on SE, you need to step back and take a look at your life. They're not going to be able to help you ever. Stop coming here to seek validation of your feelings as well. We're all just strangers. Only you can figure out what's actually best for you.
Definitely. If this thread was weak enough to fade away they would simply let it fade, but it's not. So instead they have to throw out their discontent with the thread and try to put it down themselves.
Not everyone likes change but it has to happen or it suffers from stagnation. He had another video with Chris earlier in the week where he talked about that you really can't take a break from this game due to the fact that its a vertical climb to gear up and if you take a break you get left behind whereas GW2 your legendary gear will always be relevant if you decide to take a break
Eh, yes and no. FF XIV has vertical progression, sure, but you can take a break, come back and gear up pretty quickly, especially when catch up gear is a thing from Alliance raids. Crafted gear helps a ton as well for anyone who's been gone a while and wants a quick boost. The capped tomestone gear is meant to be a grind though, at least while it's current. Casual players have their gear progression, while raiders have theirs from Savage/Ultimate/etc. I'd argue that the only game mechanic that holds people hostage is the housing system. He had another video with Chris earlier in the week where he talked about that you really can't take a break from this game due to the fact that its a vertical climb to gear up and if you take a break you get left behind whereas GW2 your legendary gear will always be relevant if you decide to take a break

No, GW2's design is different. Fights can be harder or easier, depending on how they're made. Much like how you have raids here in FF14 that can be easier or harder than A12S despite being more recent than it.
The design with GW2's fights come with stuff like using class gimmicks, buffs/debuffs and survivability. FF14's all about numbers, rotation and shielding. GW2 has a bit more to their classes than that, and some fights rely on it. Imagine En Avant actually being a part of your core gameplay. That's how classes in GW2 are designed, along with their usual other mechanics that we're used to. Looking at you, Mesmer.
