Regular crashes-to-desktop; need help!

I've been getting the dreaded CTD with no error in Event Viewer, and then sometimes with a few codes which are anyone's guess. Here's some screenshots of the errors:








I've been playing consistently since 2018 with no problems; crashes have only been occurring regularly in the last 2 months or so. I don't think I've done anything differently in the last few months other than reinstalling the game on my new expansion drive (it won't fit anywhere else since the previous drive died), and this is the only game I'm have issues with (all the others seem stable as far as I can tell). • I've uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, most recently yesterday. Seemed to be working after running the game a bit yesterday, then most of today, until it wasn't, again.
  
• Crashes will occur anywhere from when I'm not doing anything but standing somewhere to in a dungeon, but it's not a given that anything in particular makes it crash that I can figure.
  
• I will run it with other programs in the background and it will be fine for some time.
  
• I can run it without other programs in the background and it will crash regardless.
  
• Have done Reset System Settings
  
• Have done Restore Game Data
  
• Have redone graphic card drivers
  
• Have killed various fluff, like Nvidia's Game Ready Driver
  
• Regularly de-fluff the fans
  
• Reduced graphic settings
  
• Switched between DX11 and 9 (spoiler: DX9 makes some enemies in dungeons invisible, which can be a wee bit of a problem, therefore is not a solution that is workable, also DX9 eventually causes lag type issues)
  
• Have used Debug mode for Nvidia settings
  
• Have disabled full screen optimisation
  
• Have done RAM tests (says RAM's fine)
  
• Am not overheating
  
• Am not overclocking
  
• Am not modding
  

It just doesn't behave how it used to, and I'm just hoping someone can spot something obvious that will fix it (though I know that's not how this stuff necessarily works). I'm fairly clueless with this sort of thing, and need help!

Please help! Is there anything else at all I can do?

I'm sorry to hear that this issue persists even throughout all of the troubleshooting you've attempted. After having a look at your system report, I noticed that FINAL FANTASY XIV is currently installed in your [D:] drive. Usually, we would recommend having the game installed on your primary drive, as having it elsewhere can cause certain issues to occur. If you are able to, I would give this a try, but if not, it might also help to try installing it on any of the other available drives that you have as well.

Thanks for your reply. I've already moved the game back to a more stable drive since making the above report (it was actually the drive the game used to run from with no problems). There is a possibility the external HDD (the D drive) might be having some issues (we're already returning another of the same drive type, purchased at the same time since it died after only a few months of use). FFXIV now seems more stable, no crashes to speak of, so I think I can tentatively say this issue is now resolved (I haven't yet had time to do extensive "testing").

EDIT: Took the whole day yesterday to play aspects of the game which have previously led to crashes, plus a few other "stress" tests. No problems, game seems stable again. Problem was likely poor HDD. Case resolved if you want move this thread to the appropriate place.
