Is there no medium difficulty content or am I just too stupid?

    Hi there WoLs o/

So I started with 6.1 and did pretty much alle the non-extreme non-savage content.

So then I asked myself, what else could I do besides professions, RP, Saucer, Housing and all the other stuff.

Next step would be to get into a static for extremes and savage raids and I did. About 3.5 Weeks I tried raiding with a static and it was honestly fun. But not because of the content, because of the people.

I have to say im overwhelmed by the difficulty spike you get, when you go from normal content to extremes and savages.

Its like, normal EW content is a 20, Extremes are a 85 and Savage is straight up to 95 to 100.

Where is the middle ground? Am I just too dumb? I need a flow chart for the current tier extreme and for P7S I need a brain transplant.

I also tried the criterion dungeon with a nice FC group, and we had fun but we couldnt get anywhere besides wiping for 90 minutes on the mouse.

I fall asleep during normal content and get a stroke from the higher content, which makes me sad because i kinda dont fit in anywhere.

the closest to "medium" difficuilty we have are Normal/Alliance raids which are a step above MSQ content but much easier than High-End content, or some of the raids/fates in Bozja and Eureka

the only things you can really do are either just do something else, or "git gud" enough for High-End content by doing it more until you learn

No, there isn't. Its one area the game lacks.

The jump from Normal/Hard to Ex is pretty steep, however with a little practice you'll settle into them so just keep plugging at them.

I would recommend starting with ARR Ex Garuda, Shiva or Titan. They are probably the easiest to get started on. Jumping in on Leviathan, Ramuh or Moggle Mog is going to be rough.

I would say DG > normal raid > extreme > savage > ultimate. In order of difficulty this is it, and I still don't know where I would fit the criterion dungeons

Now if you're looking for a gradual progression like in WoW, with loot, no... we don't have anything like it here.

SE more less killed Midcore content years ago, I don't have much to add they tried re adding bits, but it just gets forgotten or just too dull.
current Midcore content is variant dungeons but lacks incentive outside 12 paths to re-run it.
and morsels same when they add 24 mans.

but yeah, Midcore is not in the game at all

Hm, thats disappointing. Im not gonna do it then. Everything that involves spreadsheets and requiring you to watch a 30 min guide(for example p7s has a 30 min guide on yt) multiple times im out of. Anyway thanks for the feeback

If it helps, ARR Ex... heck most Ex, do not require spreadsheets or watching guides. Its more than possible to do them blind or with a few people who know the ropes to pop tips at you.

I did the ARR Ex trials blind, it took a while to clear a few first time, but not obscenely so. Ramuh, one of the hardest of the ARR bunch, took about 2 hours blind, sync, no echo.

Middle ground would probably be normal raids and trials. Things start to pick up with mechanics people need to follow. The next stage of extreme / savage is more organized with less telegraphs. Things like clock positions and light party stacks matter more and tend to get repeated throughout the game.

Any good player in the extreme / savage tier has charts handy, so you shouldn't feel bad about needing them. Part of the fun for the more hardcore people is figuring out how to set up those charts in the first place. Then you have people like Hector and Mizzteq providing video guides.

If I could advise anything for trying it, it's be well rested and fed.

I don't like to quote posts just to basically say "yeah me too", but here we are. I have no shame in admitting im not a very skilled player. I am a slow learner, reflexes aren't what they used to be etc. But even I have reached the point where the existing 4 person dungeons in the game are mostly snorefest wall to wall pulls. Sure, I might occasionally die if I forget a mechanic or am not paying attention but they are very easy for the most part. You put it well when you categorized that content on a scale from 1-100 as around 20 and it feels like everything after that is 80+ and that type of content will NEVER be for players like me.

    Where is the 20-80 content?
