Problem: The biggest complaint of the patch has been the inability to reasonably gain raid level gear for alt jobs in a reasonable amount of time.
Context: Due to a number of variables that includes Player Attrition, Lost of interest, and increased difficulty. There is an overwhelming lack of healer availability for recruitment in Party Finder. YoshiP's proposed during the 14 hour livestream that it would be good if more players tried healer. Many players complained it would be unreasonable to switch jobs due to the inaccessibility of gear in the middle of progression content. The main issue being restrictive time gating of both Savage drops and more importantly tomestone gear.
Proposal: I recommend the unification of the accessories so they can be shared across all jobs. Removing the fending healing casting striking maiming and aiming affixes on all accessories and just make one of each type i.e. Lunar Envoy, Abyssos, Purgatory etc.
Accessories will have all the necessary Main Stats to accommodate all DoW and DoM jobs and applies the appropriate stats as the appropriate job (Pre-order Bonus Earring effect) . The split of Skill Speed and Spell Speed is handled by merging it into the "Haste" Stat.
Aim: Increase the versatility of the individual player.
Although FFXIV Market itself as a game that you can play every role on 1 character, in practice it is difficult, as one role will be far more ahead in gear than the other roles.
Requesting players to procure and pentameld a second set to fulfill PF vacuum is unreasonable and prohibitively expensive. Also iLvl 610 is no longer seen as acceptable in current PF groups, iLvl612 thru 615 is generally demanded even in P5S
Why this is a good idea.
1. There is a precedence, every expansion we receive an universal earring that works on all jobs, So we know it can be done.
2. Relieves pressure on switching jobs and roles. Since you only have to worry about the left side gear.
3. Relieves inventory and data. Inventory can be redistributed to the left.
Left side should be left alone for customizations job identifying and glamour reasons
Conclusion: Players that would swap to healing mid tier would already have half of the work done for them and would only need to procure left side equipment reducing stress on the individual player and making healing role more accessible.
