Harassment with my name on gear/items.

On gear and items created by person displays the name of the person who created said item. But yet some items will only say "Obtaining Signature".

How do I get my name off items I created? I am being harassed in game by an person using my in-game name and at the end STANK, SALTY and the GMs have done nothing to stop this harassment.

They post one item below by 1 gil and above my gear listed on the market board by 1 gil with those type of retainer's names.

It is not your name. No player owns their character name. Other players are free to use the same name as long as they have a different home world.

There's no way for us to remove a Maker's Signature from crafted items that display one but it is possible to cause the name displayed to change on items that can be stacked by adding items with one name to a stack already in your inventory with a different name.

We're not certain what "Obtaining Signature" represents anymore. It used to represent items crafted by a player that had a home world different world from the one the item is being sold on but that's no longer seems to be the case. Our best guess is that it represents items crafted by a character that has since been deleted but we can't be positive. Only SE knows.

Honestly, just ignore that other player. I doubt anyone else is paying attention to the retainer names. There are a lot of really dumb retainer names in use. By letting it bother you, you're giving that other player what they want.

Placing an item in the Glamour Dresser will remove the signature from it.

That can mean someone from a different world that hasn't been to your world since then, or a character that hasn't logged in since the last update

It makes more sense if it's for characters that have not logged in since the last maintenance update in general (or at least by region) as opposed to being world specific. I'll pick up cross data center bargains for resale on occasion and the Maker's Signature has been retained when I relist on my world. The chances of all those various crafters having visited my world seems remote.

Obtaining Signature happens when the crafter of said item has not been seen online while you were online on the same world at the same time. Signatures reset after maintenance. If items stay "Obtaining Signature" then the crafter is probably not from your world or even your data center. It's funny cos some bots were selling items with "Obtaining Signature" for weeks. When I logged in to my character on the Japanese data center and returned to Moogle the names suddenly popped up. This means the crafters of the items were from Japanese worlds. The bots were selling items bought cheap in Japan brought over to EU via data center transfers.

TLDR: crafters dont have to visit YOUR world. You just have to be online at the same time on the same world (wherever that is).

Having the crafter's name is a nice touch. I would hate it to be gone.
If someone is harassing you. Then your choices are between reporting them or going on with your life.
