I can't help but have my mind steer back to the Garleans when considering the subject of forgiveness for past wrongdoings and it really makes me hope that gets sorted out sooner then later, because while the Ilsabard contingent was willing to forgo their grudges, the same is not necessarily applicable to countless others.

Perhaps whatever problem arises in 7.x could present an opportunity for them to atone and make a formal bid for peace once all is said and done.

It’s something ripped straight from a book for four-five year olds’ bedtime stories. “Two boys fought with each other, their mother told them to make peace and so the one that started the fight brought the other a cookie and they lived happily ever after”, except this is applied to planetary extermination.

While naturally I long for more Garlemald/Ilsabard focused story content, I don't trust the writers in charge of these power of hope and love quests to write them, nor the ones who took charge of the Garlemald role quest. FFXIV's world is already in shambles, to see it degraded further with the democratisation of Garlemald in tribe quests would put me off them entirely.

Dude. The Garleans began as a democratic republic and stayed that way for over 600 years before their government was hijacked to become an Empire for a tenth of that time, keeping the senate through all of that. What exactly is your problem?

Tribal quests are not canon.

First off wrong. But second, TC shut up; if you had bothered to read the text from the link you yourself provided you'd see there is no issue present. These shades are not the same beings that were at war

I really don't know what the writers are going to do going forward. While every side having realistic motivations and not being mustache twirling villains is better writing, it creates a problem when your hero just goes around committing mass murder.

Tempering was a useful excuse for the wholesale butchering of large groups of sentient beings, but they got rid of that excuse for reasons unknown.

I would say they could just add soulless robots for us to kill but even soulless robots are being written as loveable good guys now.

Even the void demons of figurative hell have been shown as being redeemable and not completely evil.

I’m sorry the classic trope of the power of the heart/hope/friendship overcoming adversity is too carebear for some people. I like it well enough, though. At least so far. Saying FF14’s world is “in shambles” is just melodramatic. lol

I think it was stated by the devs at one point that the WoL rarely kills their enemies, and tends to knock them out cold instead.

I mean they already made our WoL being supportive, nice, and thankful to someone who exterminate her own race because of her ideology, whats worse could the devs do?

Besides we already committed mass murder since arr time, which is pointed out in drk SB quest.
