At this point I'm convinced that those of us who came for a fantasy world have lost out to those who just want a sandbox to RP modern fantasy stuff. There was already a game for that called the Sims.

Can't have a war, can't have gods, can't have demons let alone a demon realm worthy of the name, so there really is no reason for anyone wanting a world befitting a fantasy RPG to play FFXIV.

I would love it if people would stop making disingenuous arguments like this one. A lot of us here have played the entire FF mainline series. None of these games have been as heavy handed with the "light heartedness" and straight up kiddie stuff as Endwalker has been. There's always been a balance but this expansion took it and threw it out the window.

We lost our trial questline and got "Tataru's adventures" or whatever it's called, where little of substance is happening.
We lost out on Ivalice content to go play with Nanamo and Minnie Mouse.
Relics are now tied to Hildibrand.
The base 6.0 MSQ was steeped too deep in humour and nonsense and 6.1 only doubled down on it before someone else took charge in 6.2, though with the relay style patches are being written in there's no telling what to expect for the 6.3 MSQ.
